You'll be fine! Its pointless telling you not to worry because you will! But everyone on here in an iva worried. Think of all that worry for nothing...seems such a waste of time! x

Hi dipsy - just a quick question. How long did it take from your initial enquiry with your IVA company to hearing about your creditors meeting?

Can anyone else tell me on average how long Melanie Giles would take? It's starting to feel a bit real now and I just want that peace of mind, so knowing how long it takes to get a creditors meeting sorted would help.

Cheers in advance
Paul

All the best.

I'm with Melanie Giles and Melanie is very thorough and won't leave anything she is not happy with. Mine took longer than most, Melanie I'm sure would be happy to give you an average but again it would depend on your IVA x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Hi Paul. Melanie will be working hard behind the scenes and you can be sure she will be doing the best job possible on your behalf. Some things, like replies to enquiries, are beyond the control of the IP, but they will get it all up and running as soon as is reasonably possible.

Mel's team are always on the end of a phone if you need reassurance and will be happy to chat.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Hi Paul
I started to look into my IVA around mid May and went to four companies before finally deciding which one I wanted to go with. Within the week I had received my paperwork and a collector was send round to check that everything was in order and they took away the papers. Another week for the draft proposal and within that week I had received the full proposal to sign. I now have my meeting for 25th June so the whole thing has taken about 6weeks to 2 months from start to finish. Hope this helps but let me know if you need any more info. Happy to help!

Thanks dipsy and everyone else for your responses. Just to clarify, I haven't submitted any enquiry forms yet but will be in the next week or so. Letting payroll know new bank details tomorrow, and it now feels very real. I haven't fallen behind in any payments to date and so this is a huge step for me....just a bit nervous- all natural I guess.

Sounds just like me Paul. I caught it before it got out of hand and I knew what was coming so avoided a lot of the nastiness beforehand thankfully. Good luck with getting things sorted and let us know if you have any other questions
