Grant Thornton,Complaints.... Can someone please advise me on the complaints procedure or any legal action that I can pursue?. I made my full and final payment in Feb 2011, and haven’t received my completion certificate. I never missed a payment, made over payments, and paid 100% of the debt.
I have posted on here before and am now ringing GT every day, and am getting nowhere. I need to address this as I am waiting to push a mortgage through, but cant due to Grant Thorntons incompetence. Please advise…

Hi lewis.79

Wow I thought I was waiting the longest, sorry to sound selfish but it is a relief to find someone waiting longer than me.

Regarding complaining, have you tried contacting Karol from GT at ivacustomerservices@uk.gt.com and ensuring that "IVA Forum" is all that is entered in the subject line of the email.

They are slower than usual at replying at the moment but I am sure she will clarify any concerns you have because 14 months is a very long time to wait.
IVA Official Completed 27th July 2012!!!

That is a very long time to have to wait Lewis - however there must be some good reason for this

Grant Thornton will have an internal complaints process published on their website, but before you go down that route I would e-mail the GT representative who assists on the forum - Karol - who is sure to look into this for you. Have you actually spoken to Karol yet, as I see you have posted on the forum previously about this?

One might have thought that a professional approach to such matters, or even simple common courtesy, would mean that any good reason would have been communicated by GT at some point over the last 12 months or so?

I think that is rather down to Grant Thornton and their client to discuss - we don't really know the full facts of this case.

Agree with Melanie - this is something for GT and the client to sort - hopefully Karol can pick up on this and contact the client.

Hi Lewis. I agree with Mel (on both counts). Please drop Karol an email at ivacustomerservices@uk.gt.com and ensure that "IVA Forum" is all that is entered in the subject line of the email.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Agreed. And yet you seem happy to conclude / assume that GT have a good reason?

Send an email directly to your IP demanding a full and transparent explanation (use those words) as to why they have not yet closed your case and why they have failed to communicate with you.

By the way, if you're after a mortgage your options will be severely limited post-IVA,so I would suggest getting in touch with the forum's resident mortgage broker, Ryan (ryan@zebramoney.co.uk).

Ryan has just arranged a mortgage for me and I highly recommend him.

I wouldn't bother waiting for a call, you've waited long enough already - get straight onto your IP and demand some answers.

I just got off the phone to karol, she says that the dividends were messed up, and some creditors were over paid, and now they are trying to claw it back form them. I have already been waiting 16 months for my certificate of completion, how much longer??????

You definitely need to write directly to your IP and ask for a full and transparent explanation as to what has happened.

Were you with GT from the outset or did you transfer from them to another firm?
