GT are getting a lot of flack for taking too long with completions, can I share my personal experiences[?]
Final payment made on the 17th March, rang GT on the 21st March and they confirmed final payment received and no further payments required, I was requested to submit a final I&E which I e'mailed to them the same day. Received an e'mail confirming receipt of my I&E documents the next day, informing me I&E review would be completed within 6 weeks.
Today, exactly 5 weeks later, received confirmation everything ok with my final I&E [:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]
The last hurdle is receipt of my completion certificate within 6 months, hopefully before 17th September.
My personal experience has always been; GT do things right every time and always within the time frames advised, their staff are friendly, polite, approachable and extremely helpful.
OK they may be slower than some other companies but I have every confidence when I eventually receive my completion certificate, everything will have been done exactly right.
I hope this helps??
IVA COMPLETED ON THE 17th MARCH, FINAL I&E COMPLETED 26th APRIL, COMPLETION CERTIFICATE ARRIVED 2nd AUGUST
Hi vixster wondered how you got on with GT and the call or email you had from karol. i did send an email to karol but got a standard email with little help on it other then stating that what i have already been told.
oh and just for info this is the email i got sent from GT ....
The closure of an IVA takes 6 months to complete in order that all administration can be finalised accordingly.
As part of this process, Grant Thornton is required to complete a final review to ensure all contributions have been received accordingly, all Income and Expenditure reviews completed as required and all assets realised in line with your proposal.
Following this review, a final review of all creditor information is required - correct creditor details, Claim received etc.
Where claims are outstanding, we are required to give creditors sufficient time to complete a Proof of Debt form and return.
Once all claims have been agreed, a final distribution will be calculated and any remaining costs of the IVA paid.
The Final Report is drafted and passed for review. Once the draft report has been reviewed and returned to the team, a request will be made for the IVA bank account to be closed, and cheques raised for creditors.
On receipt of the Final cheques, they are attached to each creditors copy of the Report and posted accordingly to all.
The recent VAT tribunal caused some serious delays with out process, initially standing at 3 - 6 months. Unfortunately due to guidance from our regulators a hold was placed on closing IVA's until decided the impact this would have. Approximately 6 to 8 weeks after this hold was placed, a decision had been reached and closures resumed as normal albeit significantly behind.
If we are in a position to close your IVA sooner, this is our intention however our current experience deems the 6 month timescale accurate.

Hi, Aprilia. My god seems like you have had a nightmare with GT and them doing what they have asked is in my eyes against the guidelines they should be working with. i find it totally wrong that we have to chase GT and then told nothing of why its taking so long and then on top of that they ask you to claim ppi! and surely them using a third party is emoral on all levels. you have done the right thing tho and hope you get the completion c soon.
Aprilia has actually received the completion letter I believe.

really?? well thats great news! i do hope this is true as it seems that Aprilia has had a total nightmare in all fairness. why on earth would they ask for a claim after having to wait so so long for the cc to be sorted.
Aprilia thats great news! god that was a nightmare and the ppi claim was a joke! really after so much time to wait and then be told you where being asked to do that claim was very un profesional in my view. i will be doing the same if it takes that long. how long would they exspect you to wait another maybe 12months before a claim come threw! as, like me i dont have any miss sold ppi as i requested it when i applied for the loans etc. so will totally be a straight no from me. did they put presure on you concerning ppi? apart from the calls i take it it was all dropped when you said no.
I dont know if you already have but if I it was me I would be in touch with GT to confirm that you dont have any PPI claims so this matter dont turn up in the future, further delaying your closure.
i will do that but i will just be returning it like so many people have as i have not got any ppi claims, all mine where asked for when i applied and as such will not be claimning any ppi back. to be honest all this is very new to me as until i came on here i didnt no what all the fuss was about.
Hi Matt,
Just to let you know. I did receive an email on Friday after my email to Karol. It was from GT (Claire). It said she had asked the closure dept for an update on my case and on receipt of their reply would advise accordingly early this week.To be honest they did respond quickly with the aknowledgement. Will wait & see. It is good that there have been a few posts where the CC has arrived. Theres a few more happy GT clients. Hope it won't be long for us.
IVA Completed Nov 2011.
Completion Certificate received 21st July 2012.
Aprilla - I could have written that post myself, in fact I have started a new post which is much the same before reading this!!! F & F payment made beg Oct and still waiting, they never return my calls either, all i ever hear from is Claims Broker who i find very rude. I have no PPI to reclaim and told GT this and they said to ignore the letters, however, I can't ignore the rude phone calls that tell me i'm not complying with my IVA!!!
I just want my certificate
I made my last direct debit payment in end of Oct 11. I received my CC documents last Friday so almost 6 month wait. One thing I will say is I have never had any correspondance or phone calls from Claim Brokers or GT re PPI. I did have PPI on some of my cards but don't believe I mis sold so have no intention of claiming. Don't understand how some people are pressured into investigating PPI and I got away scot free! I would be very peed off in your shoes.
IVA finished Oct 2011, CC received 27 April 2012, No longer on Insolvency Register 01 May 2012. Jan 2013 - all Credit Files squeaky clean
