Hi,

Posted on here a few times way back when my IVA started, and now its coming to an end I have a question but forgot my log-in details!
I have paid my last contribution to DEBT FREE DIRECT and am supposedly in my waiting period to receive completion. But I recieved a pack from Equity in Finance to claim back my PPI on the accounts within the IVA, as this will make my creditors look more favourably on my account. My question therefore, is this really necessary? And if I don't send the pack back will it delay my CC? And also, if I don't claim, can I claim personally once I've recieved my cc??

Many thanks and good luck to everyone!

Have you been missold PPI is the question here? If you have then you need to claim now to enhance the dividend payable to your creditors. It wouldn't be right to claim once you've received your certificate of compliance.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Claiming PPI wasn't something that concerned me before, but DFD sent me the claim form, so it would appear that they feel I have been mis-sold it at some point? I was just waiting for my CC.

We have had something similar come through from GT, but as we knew about the PPI & agreed to it, I feel there is no reason to try to claim. I've phoned GT and explained this & they said no problem and it has been removed from our file.

If this is the case with yourself just give DFD a call & explain.
Final IVA payment made in April 2013, never ever thought we could do it or get through it but we did! X

Hi dave
We had the same pack sent to us from Equity in Finance. I spoke to my IP and advised them that I was well aware of what PPI was and we never had any loans or finance with it included. We were advice that it was our decission to follow this up and if we didnt want to ignore the paperwork sent.
Equity in Finance are relentless though and have called regularly for the past week even to the point of making out we were stupid as PPI was probable hidden in all our agreements. They have been politly told were to go.

Don't blame you Chris - if you've not had it then you should not have to make a claim.

If you were not mis-sold any PPI then you should merely advise your IP that this was the case and that there is no claim to make - after which time the nominated claims company should no longer contact you. However you will have to make a declaration that you will not submit any claims after the IVA has been concluded, as this would be effectively denying your creditors of an asset, which your former IP is likely to find out about.

Just going on what melanie has said, GT did say they would send something for us to sign & Im very happy to do so.
We are paying back 45p in the pound, so I would not dream of claiming as so much will of been written off by the end of our IVA, unless I win the lottery first!
