Hi I am new !! Iva proposal in second stage I feel guilty keep phoning IP but when i do she is helpful but siiting here this morning reading all these post is making me feel a bit better .. There is on question i would like to ask (before I phone here again) I owe on my buisness rates this has been put into proposal but I have a distraint order on this so shall i just keep paying the 250 a week they are demanding or am I protected yet ?

Not sure what happens about the order but you're not protected until the iva is accepted.

Please speak to your ip and they will advise.

Your IP will apply for a court order stopping all legal action against you but until this is in place you have no legal protection. If in any doubt speak to your IP.

I wouldn't worry about calling your IP for clarification, don't feel guilty as it will give you case specific advice and reassurance. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Hi Michael - welcome to the forum.

Your IP would far rather you call to clarfiy things and keep in contact then go off, worry and make bad decisions or disappear. They are there to guide you and represent you so ask as many questions of them as you need to.

Hi thanks for all kind messages of support I decided to phone my buisness rates council today to explain now the new bill kicks in May 1st i will really struggle to keep paying £250 a week and they have agreed to freeze the debt £4950.00 for a month so I can keep up to date with my new account !!! I was amazed as I said it looks like an offer of £50 a week was more realistic to me .I didnt mention I was in the process of an IVA. Some people do listen ! In the meantime is it wise for me to continue paying the vat debt etc will it make a difference ?
