Definitely no implants here!!!! No car crashes either but, as BOL says, perhaps we'll have to prove that as well!!!

Don't forget the claim for having fallen over that loose paving slab as well!!

DO NOT DO IT!!!!! trust me, this PPI issue with DEBT FREE DIRECT IS THE BIGGEST HOLE IN THE HEAD!!!! I had already completed mine in september 2011, I am still waiting to be released. First I have fobbed off with the PPI rubbish, now the issue is VAT!!!! They are having meetings this week about the VAT issue, which has now become my issue. I have not been released, therefor I am still on the insolvency register and will be for a further 3 months from when debt free direct can be bothered to release me and let them know. I recieved a letter from equity in finance the week before christmas after I finnished in September previously. I was then told, it's a private claim, then told it's not, then told it was, then told it's not. Now we have cleared the PPI issue, there is now a VAT issue. Great. (banging my head against the wall) Yes, I may be debt free, but the worst thing is being tied into an IVA when you don't owe any money and there aint a thing I can do about it. Any ideas are more than welcome. So far, everyone has failed me!!! Next stop, trading standards and regulations i'm afraid!!

It's not just DFD - GT and Payplan are doing it as well.

To be honest, I don't think anyone is going to be able to help.

Nothing to stop you from trying though.

There has been a change in vat as it was found in a court case with Paymex that it shouldn't be charged on IP fees. So the vat is being reclaimed (creditors insistence as it is due to them) and HMRC are taking a while to pay out. Until HMRC pay out and the vat has been applied to your account, it seems your via will stay open. This is the advice of regulators and legal advisors so I don't think you would get anywhere with a complaint. The IPs are being put out by this too and aren't any happier than we are!

I have been issued with a certificate of completion, but, not released. I thought this went hand in hand? Thank-you for the explanation on VAT, makes great sense. it's un fortunate and really bad timing for me. I just want to buy a house before it's too late for us, my husband is 40, I am 30. I am concerned about rebuilding my credit history too. I cannot do anything, well at least I think I can't? can I send my certificate to the insolvency register? Can i get my name removed that way?

I think it's crazy that peoples IVA's are taking so long to be closed and sent a completion certificate. As Broke of London explained it the problem is with the creditors and ip's and HMRC, the person in the IVA is not going to get anything from this so why delay their completion? Surely it can be sorted out even if the IVA is finalised as the paperwork would still be available, the money would go to the IVA pot would'nt it.

I can remember when IVAs ran over three years maximum period Jan - it doesn't seem that long ago but I guess I am going back at least 15 years.

Alee - I really don't see how you can have been issued with a Certificate of Completion but not released from the IVA. The two events are simultaneous and the one without the other cannot be valid.

As I said on another post - check the insolvency register -my guess is Alee that you have been discharged and your IVA is completed....a copy of the final chairmans report should be available to you which will show the final distribution.

Hi Tammy
Just catching up with this. I think most of the guys have responded to your initial query but if you do need any help, please let me know. If you havent taken out PPI volunatrilly, it may have been added to your account without your knowldege - hence why we are looking into this. If you would like me to look into this, my contact details can found in my profile.

Thanks
