Hi, I made my final payment with GT in Feb 2011, and still haven’t had my certificate, I ring up quite often to remind them, but get the same dismissive answers.
I also paid way over the original debt in total contributions, is this right?? I am looking to seek independent advice as this issue has been dragging on for way too long. Any help would be marvellous.

If you were able to pay 100% of the debt, then it is possible any overpayment would be the fees involved. As for your certificate this is an apaling state of affairs. It is possible that you have been caught up in the recent HMRC Vat issues.

Seems outrageous that you are still waiting now 12 months later!!!

You will never pay more than your original debt plus fees.

I would contact GT and ask which regulatory body they come under and then contact them with your complaint of a delay in completion,as you finished before any VAT issues arose.

It does seem very odd that your case is taking a long time to close at first glance, but there could be very good reasons for this - of which you ought to have been made aware. I would get hold of Karol personally and ask her to look into this for you.

Good luck with gettIng this resolved swiftly.

I would be raging by this point!

Have your defaults gone? I guess that you will still be on the register.

Madness - people want to move on and can't because of this. I would not be a happy bunny if it were me.

I'd be a hopping mad bunny! Seriously underwhelming from GT. Let's hope they make quick progress with the backlog.

I believe it was going on before that. I know Mel put in a claim in September.
