IVA now complete but started on 02/04/2006.
Does this simply fall off the credit report? I have read two different articles that state that the Insolvency Practitioner has to arrange the removal. I don't think this is right, can someone agree/disagree with me?
Also, whilst keeping an eye on the three credit reports, Experian and Call Credit drop defaults after one working day, but Equifax takes about 8 days (I have complained to the ICO and Equifax as it is beyond 6 years).
How long until eveyone else's Equifax defaults dropped off their reports? I'm looking for a clean file on 3rd April, but fear it may be 10th/11th April.
Many thanks

s27 - no - the IVA should drop off - but you do need to give it a few days, however you do need to check your three credit records to make sure no defaults have been dated after the start of the IVA - if there is you need to write to data controller and each creditor - asking for the default to be removed (enclosing a copy of your completetion certificate). bit confused on your dates - 6 years is up 02/04/12 ???
Ip will have NOTHING to do with cleaning you credit reports up -they will just inform the insol register.

If it's equifax they don't want to know, I've complained the same about them keeping the data visable for longer than necessary, it actually breaches the 5th Principle and probably the 1st and 3rd of the Data Protection Act.
Call Credit have deleted a number of my defaults ahead of time, the only ones that remain are for the 24/03/2006 3 of them and the IVA
The IVA has come off Equifax, but as you say they are not very quick with deleting the defaults, so will probably reluctantly have to give them another week.
Experian delete the day after automatically, so if the default date was say 14/03/2006 the default will be gone from your file on the 15/03/2012.
HTH

And they in turn inform the CRA's who should mark the IVA as completed so that it can be deleted at the 6th year drop off point.
If it's not marked as completed, it wont drop off at the 6 year mark.

Just to clarify s27, the defaults should disappear automatically after 6 years, but the court record will only be removed once the CRAs have been notified by the Insolvency Service that the IVA is complete, which will only happen once your IP has notified the Insolvency Service.
Completion certificate received 31 March 2012.

Many thanks all.
Yes, IVA marked as satisfied. Experian actually shows 2 entries under IVA, the first states start date. The second shows the same information but says it's satisfied. I may query this with Experian - with what has been said I can see the fitst IVA staying put and the second being removed.
Matrix - I got very impatient with a default on 20/02/12 not being removed by Equifax. I wrote to the ombudsman who thanked me for my letter and will get back to me regarding my complaint with Santander! The letter was very direct that Equifax was at fault, not Santander.
No defaults after 02/04/12 so probably have to wait for Equifax, boo.

I used to file an online dispute with Equifax the day it was supposed to be removed and it was normally removed within a week.

Yes I have online disputes with them at the moment siting exact entries and dates they need to remove them by. They just answered one to say that they will be removed "around" those dates. I'm disputing each one individually now so one should be off by this Friday, and the rest a week on Saturday.
I wont hold my breath though

Yes the ombudsman does make mistakes, some having very serious data protection breaches. Specifically posting details of a complaint I emailed to him to another member of my family living at the same address as me with an attached complaint form mixing up my details with theirs.
