I feel a little guilty that my debts have put a stop on our life to some degree...he foots most of the bills for our social life, the onus for buying a house is on him because I have no deposit, I can't save for a wedding... Honestly, to anyone young and considering an iva I have one word of advice: JFDI. The timing doesn't get any better if you wait!

Nice idea OT! Maybe our motto could be, "G-d grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot charge..."

I've won that several times, plus a fair few billions in inheritances and/or tax rebates plus numerous other monetary gifts. I could pay off the debts of everyone on here several times over if I believed this rubbish!!!

I'm sure a lot of people do though!!

You sound just like Mrs Torch.
I assume she's talking about the lottery.

Don't worry Red.

I struggled for about five years before entering an IVA.

The IVA was the best thing I could do.

I have learnt to budget and now see where the money is coing from and going years into the future.

Debt can happen to anyone, it only takes one small thing to go wrong and it grows from there.

THe IVA will not be easy and you will ahve to make choices and not always do the nice things you want to, but you will get through it.

According to some texts recently, I've been in a fair few car crashes I don't remember. Do you think the fact I've never been in a car crash (touch wood) will affect the £3,250 payout I'm entitled to?

I am so fed up of phone calls and texts about things I'm not interested in.

Why don't they all just bog off!!

My pet hate is the 'underdog' adverts you see in daytime TV. They make my blood boil every time!
