Hi, sorry you aren't having much luck with your ip. It is frustrating when you can't get hold of them or they change your case worker. I had a payday loan in my first iva before I knew about payment breaks. They totalled about the same as yours. It was a daft thing to do but I was desperate with a sick baby and reduced hours etc. I tried to pay it off and did pay one off by taking off my food budget and living on beans. I told my ip and was told it could be added onto my iva (I was with payplan) as it was a wage advance not a loan. I would speak to my supervisor and explain why you took it out etc. They should be able to help somehow. Hope vn pick up for you here.

Hi everyone
Thanks for all your help and advice - I will act on it and let you know how I get on as you say maybe they could give me another break or add it on to my IVA - am still witing to hear fro my caseworker with regard to what they propose to do for me if anything. I actually wrote to Varden Nuttall back in September detailing why I had taken the loans out in the first place - hhusband ill etc - I also emailed IP Supervisor who never got back to me but I will try again.

Thanks again

hope you get sorted Catbalou. I did something similar I racked up £1800 on a credit card and payday loan because of car repairs. I had to have a variation meeting with my IP, they put together a new proposal which luckily the creditors accepted. They reduced my monthly payments to enable me to pay of my credit card, but they added on an extra year. I didnt mind because i was so relieved the IVA didnt fail.

Fingers crossed that VT can sort this out for you x

You never attend the meetings catbalou - it's all done by phone and fax. You just need to be on the end of the phone.

hope you get this sorted out, it is awful. There should be like an emergency number that we could ring when in these situations, and an emergency pot to help people out. If I won the lottery it is something I would set up, so people's IVA's don't fail and people have another option to turn to
IVA accepted 31.05.11 and 2 reviews DONE!!! Wow,nearly approaching my third. can't believe how time has flown!
December 2015 - made a one off payment and made a settlement of the IVA!! recieved certificate in May. - all completd and now I can get on with my life

Catbalou - no I didnt have to attend, as far as I know it was something similiar to when the IVA was first taken out. They take a vote on it.
at the end of the day its not in VN's interests for it to fail - I believe they will put forward a proposal that the creditors will accept.
Good luck and keep us posted. x

Hi Catbalou,

Im not in the office today but I have received your email and just spoken to a lady named Joanne in our office regarding your case. She is fully up to speed with your situation and will be in touch asap to go through your options.

To reiterate the above posters, if you do need a variation it is all done in a similar fashion to your original IVA meeting when you came into the IVA and you are not required to attend in person. Hopefully Joanne will answer all of your questions but feel free to email me again if you need any more assistance.

Regards,

Gareth
