Since you have been polite and honest and given them a date when they will receive information, I would think their behaviour now qualifies as harassment. Not to mention that they should not be chasing payment now they are bound by the iva. I'd threaten to call the police, the FSA and the OFT if they ring again! Enough is enough!!

I must admit we just unplugged the phone at home. Changed my mobile number and if anyone rang at work told them that she (I) was on long term sick.

We loved having no calls so have never plugged the home phone back in!

I had over 30 calls in 1 day on my mobile from Egg before I changed my number and I did try to speak to them but the guy was such a k**b I hung up!

It is worth it though in the end, so hold on - it will all stop soon.

Well, as promised Simply Be have been calling me everyday this week and today I was a lucky girl and got 2 phone calls [:D]

Thing is I now know the number they phone from and am just ignoring it and letting it ring. If they are stupid enough to think that harassing me is going to frighten me then it isn't working anymore. I was a tad concerned at first, but as all you lovely people have said, I am protected by my IVA so they are just being a nusiance for the sake of it.

Makes me chuckle that I only owe them a total of £120 and they are desperate for a payment of £8! Not exactly going to make the company go bust, maybe they need a topup to help fund the office new years eve party!

Glad you're not so worried now. Just let them get on with it.

Well done supergert! It is worrying at first but we all get fed up with these calls and begin to play them at their own game.

I only ever once let my other half answer a call I knew was Barclaycard as they were doing my head in. I have to admit after he had finished with them they never rang again! [:D]

Find a small very talkative child and put them on the phone next time they call. Its funny that knowing your protected from them does make the calls less worrying and more annoying.

Did someone not also put the parrot on the phone or did I dream that up???

I used to get hubby to answer the phone for a while, as he has a hearing problem and all I could hear was him saying 'Sorry I didn't hear that can you say that again' after a while they got so frustrated they would ring off. [:D][:D]

I just put the phone on the side walked out of the room and shut the door - but I agree, the calls are frightening before your IVA is accepted, then they become a fun game to play.

I think it's worth stressing that you may be told that if you don't make a payment then they will reject the IVA application. These people are usually call centre workers who have no say on your IVA and not making a payment does not affect the IVA decision, in fact it just re-inforces your inability to pay your debts.

Don't let the b***ers get to you.
