Hello everyone
My IVA ended in November and I'm currently going through completion.
Today I get a letter from a random solicitors asking me to contact them about settling the debt! I will send the letter onto my IP but am in a bit of a tailspin about it.

The letter is from Shoosmiths on behalf of Britannia SRL, but on my last review (3 weeks old) the account was being handled by Grant Thornton.

I guess my question is why have I got the letter after 5 years?!
Should I expect others to follow from other creditors

Hi and welcome.

This does sometimes happen unfortunately but you have nothing to worry about. Just pass the letter on and your IP will deal with it.

Forward it to your IP. The debt has been sold on so they need updating tht you are in an IVA and are protected. Your IP will sort this out. This sometimes happens but not on all your accounts.

Cescad80 make sure you pass this to your IP to deal with asap then you can forget about it, well done on completion of your IVA. Hugs

Hopefully you won't get any more letters - let us know how you get on with your IP.

Hello everyone

I spoke to my IP, who said not to worry, just to send it to them and they will deal with it as part of the completion process. Thanks for your advice, it really helped settle my nerves.

6 weeks through completion..hopefully only 6 weeks to go! Counting down the days now...

Glad your IP put your mind at rest and once forwarded to them they will deal with it.

You're almost there!
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Even over a year after my completion certificate i still receive paperwork from creditors included in our IVA - I simply ignore it now !
