Is it correct that the amount payable to the iva is the total amount that you have left after taking expenditure from income. Also i have a insurance with my iva company and they dont class it as an expenditure!?

after you have worked out your total expenditurel any thing left go to your iva.
dont know why your iva insurance is not in your expenditurel.
was it some think you had to have?
IVA now over with and it was worth it.

Hi and welcome.

Your iva payment is your disposable income after all of your normal monthly outgoings have been paid. You do.have allowances for things such as haircuts.

As,regards the insurance, there ate some creditors who won't allow it but if you could fund it by savings elsewhere there is no reason why you could not keep.it going

Did your iva company sell you this insurance??

Not very keen on this but if they made you take it then they must give you an allowance!!!

Thanks to you all for replies. But there is one thing i dont understand,I thought that when in an iva they half your dept but ours seems more than when we started.Another thing that annoys me is that my advisor dont seem to be helping us,he was nent to send us some paper work over two weeks ago and im still waiting.I call him and ask but he seems uninterested.

Hi, your debt isn't halved. You will always owe the full amount of your original debt plus fees until the iva is completed. Whatever is remaining will then be written off.

Which company are you with an debate paperwork are you waiting for?

I think there are still a few glitches on the forum at the moment.

Read through your proposals and make sure you are happy with everything in there. As regards your ex, there's not a lot he can do. He will just have to.carry on paying the loan.

Even if he does there is nothing he can do. He is as liable for the loan as you are so you can tell him that. Once your iva has been approved then you could always send a copy of your approval to a solicitor if he did that.

Dividend is quite a good one.

he can send as many letters as he wants as he is jointly responsible for the debt he cant do anything to you as you will be protected by the iva. Do you speak to your ex? If so I'd warn him what you are doing but obviously he isnt paying anything to the joint debt so tough luck on him.
