we are going into DMP and have filled what i thought was everything in apart from a past debt in my husbands name. it is a debt from his bank account he had years ago, so dont have his old account number and they are asking for this. We were paying a small amount in a DD, but the bank cant tell us any details. How can we find out?

I actually dont see how they can tell you they cant give you any details. these are details that you're entitled to know.
have you tried asking to speak to someone higher up in the food chain so to speak?
Failing that maybe the company overseeing your DMP could contact them??

The bank will have details and are being a pain!! Keep annoying them until they hand over the account information.

Cheers. Will try what you have suggested so far. It all slows things down and i just want everything to go ahead so we know everything will be ok and start to relax and think about other things. Thanks again.

Have you thought of checking his credit record to see if the details are on there?

It may not turn anything up but it's worth a try.

I don't think you will have anyone turn up. It rarely happens and if it does you don't have to speak to them at all.

I'm glad about that. I do sometimes have a habit of opening my mouth on here and putting my foot in it!
