I agree keep trying ...nothing ventured etc.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Thanks, i do have a job but i am on maternity leave until March. I have been told i have to go back full time as its a full time role and cnt do it part time....but if i go back full time my whole salary will get swallowed up by nursery and travel fees so i wouldnt be able to help hubby with the bills as i would just be paying someone to look after my boys! x

Apologies - I meant that you would hopefully find another job within the firm.

I think the cost of childcare these days is ridiculous.

Well, i applied again...1 week later i have received an email to say there are better candidates so unfortunately will not be going for an interview - so there you have it guys, more and more firms lately are judging us on our credit status in order to get a job - shame on them!

Not good mellymoo, so sorry you didn't get an interview.

Good luck with anything else in the future.

I was in a bad mood before, but i realised its their loss you can't judge anyone properly until you have walked a mile in their shoes.... so how dare they presume im no good for the job just because i decide to get my debts under control! I wont be made to feel ashamed like i am a criminal when i am proud to be sorting myself out x

I agree with you 100% about being judged. We should not have to suffer that.

We are not criminals at all.

Well if you met the criteria for the job, I cannot see how they can judge from an application form.

If you ticked all the requirements of the job on the application form and gave examples, the only way they could judge you against the other candidates is by way of a interview.

Does seem a bit unfair mellymoo, but don't let it put you off applying elsewhere. Their loss, and I would not want to work for someone who did not appreciate me as a person either.

Hi Mellymoo, it is their loss and you'll get something better. Just goes to show there is prejudice out there in relation to IVA's I think, but I really think it depends on who you get on the interview panel. Personally, I would never mention an IVA at an actual interview but I would always make sure I was honest and declared it if successful to maximise my chances and avoid anything going wrong once the post was taken up. Very best wishes and enjoy your new addition, you can look positively elsewhere over the next few months for a position that deserves you.
