Hi. I only have 2 payments to go and trying not to get too excited. I'm on the dreaded register and iva started 8 Jan 2006. Not heard about final review yet. Do I just stop making payments? I know I paid before. The iva was accepted. And if after the review more monies have to be paid where do I stand ? Or. Are you not allowed to pay any more than six years.

Why not give your IP a call check when you should stop paying etc and that everything is up to date on course for completion! Well done for nearly completing im very jealous!
Started IVA May 2010 - 17 months done 43 months to go to a happier debt free life - big lesson learnt!

Agree that you should speak to your IP to check when your final payment is due.

Well done on completing!

I would definately enquire as to how many more payments are left and what date you can cancel your standing order ! It is a lovely feeling when you reach this stage - however it can also be quite daunting !

Keep logged onto the forum and ask any questions you have - once you receive your certificate of completion you will be able to ensure your defaults are all registered prior to the IVA starting, and you will also then be removed from the insolvency register - good luck and here's to a debt free life !

I know how you feel malcome, I made payment 59 today and also asked if it was defintely next month that was the last one. I know that it is but it's like "Could you just check and make double/treble sure" lol.

I'm supposed to receive a review sometime in October but by the time they produce it they'll be asking me for more docs to do the completion lol.

Oh well it's nearly all over, 30 days to go.. 1 day at a time.. I'm not getting excited until number 60 is made (although i'm having a hard time not thinking about an extra £400pm in my hand)

:o)

I'd have thought they would have asked for the paperwork for your review by now animaleyes.

That will then give them the information they need to produce the final report to creditors and issue the certificate once all dividends have been distributed and the bank account has been closed by the IP.

There was no additional paperwork other than the usual review stuff :-) I'd call to confirm the final payment date and when the review paperwork is due.
We're willing to wipe the slate clean, give you a fresh start. All that we're asking in return is your cooperation.

Funny thing is that my official review was August but I had a variation for 3 months. They asked for the 5th year review info in August but told me I'll get it in October,

I think it's mad seeing as i end in November, then having to provide another 3 months payslips etc... but what do i know!!!

You stop paying when you meet the final dividend demand how many pennies in the pound which is then recalulated to allow for any increase or decrease in income. For example M&S I owed 4.5k at the proposal date but when it when creditors meeting the lumped in a £1000 of charges (in six weeks) whhhhaaaaat. So I was supposed to 52p in the pound but my IP haggled it down (without a variation or further creditors meeeting) at the end to 50p I like my IP

I too was unsure whether our last payment was October or November, but this was resolved by my IP (Jones Giles)and, guess what, it's October, which means that our last payment has gone out of our account TODAY!!

I still find it hard to take in that we are completed and I won't be cancelling the standing order until I have had confirmation from Melanie's team.

First priority will be to save up for a well-earned holiday all paid for in cash!!!
