lesley that is so sweet, bless him.
i have been trying to keep everthing going as normal, so she still comes for daily walks, i only leave her off the lead in our small local park, where she is getting more confident and having a play around with my other dog, and i talk to her constantly so she knows i am never far away. she comes in the car, but previously she would jump into the boot, now she stands there and waits to be picked up! bearing in mind i am little over 5ft and she is a boxer, quite a task. Lol

It's a great idea to keep things normal Kat and she sounds like she has one great owner. They're hard work as you have to put that bit more effort in but they're worth it, I often find myself talking to him and not sure how he'd cope without our other dog but hopefully it won't come to that as he's the oldest. x

Kat so saddened to hear about your bad luck, in particular your dog, I have a bullmastiff and I`d be gutted if anything happened to him. I hope that your fence gets sorted, and I can personally assure you that you are in good hands with Melanie. Good luck.

Let me know personally as soon as you have those costings Kat - I did think that you were one of my clients, but I do sometimes forget to link forum names with real ones.

Lesley was a tower of strength and good advice to me last year when my beloved 17 year old Yorkie went blind - and we had another cherished six months with her when her life was still very quality and even at that age she adapted well. Your four legged friend will soon be racing around again - their other senses are far stronger and soon you will notice little difference.

If there is anything else I can do to help please let me know.

You are not wrong there Lesley - dog's never had a bad day and don't let their owners dwell too much if we are having one either. I could not live without my dogs.

My dogs know when something is wrong and will always come to see if we are ok silly as it seems. Wouldn't be without mine either, even when they drive me up the wall sometimes!!!

As you know I'm more of a cat person but I think they also know when you are upset or ill. I remember being in bed with a migraine and Harry slept on the bed with me all day. If I'm just having a lie in he doesn't bother.

Hubby is away today and overnight and I'm sure they realise this as he's always at home. They keep staring out of the window.

Mine have done things out of the ordinary this week, the first thing the blind one wanting to go in the car but even odder is the Lab came upstairs! He never comes upstairs, we were lying in bed Sunday morning watching TV and I thought there was a burglar as this booming and bashing up the stairs and I (note I! hubby stayed in bed) opened the bedroom door and there stands the Lab! he wasn't very elegant with his descent either bless him as he's not used to the stairs!

hiya all,
my dog deteriorated further this weekend, lost the use of her legs and unable to eat drink, gasping for breath etc. on tuesday i made the heartbreaking decision to have her put to sleep.
ended up telling my mum and dad about the iva on my return from the vets, i was so distaught that i could not afford a private cremation to enable me to have my beautiful girls ashes returned, that everything came out.
turns out my parents are being incredibly supportive, and are even helping towards the cremation costs, so my beautiful girls ashes will be returned and i will lay her to rest in her favourite spot in the garden.

Kat, I'm sat here with tears in my eyes, I am so relieved you've told your parents and they're being supportive in your time of need, to have her cremated and retuend to you to lay to rest in her favourite spot is beautiful.

She was a very lucky lady to have such a caring owner and I'm sure she had the best life possible with you and has left you with many happy memories now that she's crossed over to Rainbow Bridge. Thinking of you Kat. xx
