We are nearing our creditors meeting, and natwest are our biggest creditor. We sent letters to all creditors telling them of our current situation, but due to natwest being our bank were advised not to say anything to them just yet and deal with everything else first. Natwest are now wanting money for credit card bills and as advised we made a token payment this month but still not said anything to them as we had a hitch setting up new accounts. If we get natwests backs up regarding payments are they likely to vote against our proposal at the meeting? We've been really bothered about this due go the fact we owe the most to them.
Don't worry blue eyes. It will make no difference at all to the voting. Any phone calls are from a call centre who have no influence on anything and you can reply to any letters by telling them you are going for an IVA.
Have you got a new bank account yet?

Bank accounts should all be done by the end of the week. We went with nationwide but they originally put us through for a full current account with overdraft for which gotcregused due to credit rating so now wIring for paperwork to come through post for basic account.
As soon as the account is set up, get everything changed over and then you can forget the NatWest account.
If there is still a problem with Nationwide, you can always try the Co-op cashminder account (unless they are a creditor). Open over the phone or in a branch and they are very IVA friendly.

Don't worry about the spelling! As long as we can understand it, that's all that matters!
The forum is always here for advice and any support you may need.

As everyone on here knows my spelling is appalling - more of a typing too quick issue rather than a can't spell!
We don't judge on this forum for anything - including spelling!

hiya blue eyes,
i have a nationwide account, and have found them to be excellent, everything arranged online and paperwork arrived in the post about a week later, i also opened an esaver account with them, where i try and whittle away any money i can for emergencies.
as for making token payments, this really doesn't make any difference to your proposal being accepted, most of us i think prior to the iva being set up try and save some of the money we would normally have made payments out of, during the life of the iva you never know when you may need it! i have certainly needed mine during the past two months.
all the best.

IVA accepted 6th May 2011, Full and Final accepted 17th April 2012.
Changing to a new bank account, if you owe money to your current bank, is a first priority for anyone entering into an IVA, in which case there should be no need to delay notifying that creditors of your intentions to enter into an IVA.
dont worry about nat west voting no; i owed them £40k and it didnt stopp them voting yes. within a few months they will sell your debt on for pennies.
I opened my new account with Nationwide. i stressed i wanted a basic account with no overdraft or chequebook, didnt mention i was applying for IVA and account was approved fine. also now after a few months ( if not straight away ) they will give you a visa debit card, which they call cash card+
we all worry at times, but im sure everything willl be fine
good luck, the waiting will soon be over
