Thank you to all the people who advised me to contact different IVA companies. The first one I spoke to were great but speaking to Melanie Giles' company today was excellent. The lady I spoke with was so helpful and professional but with a genuine personal touch. I feel so pleased to be taking the steps to deal with my debts. [:)][:)][:)]
Dreaming of the day that I'll finally be debt free!

Well done for doing your research... I'm afraid I wasn't aware of this forum then and rushed in headlong with the first company I dealt with, mainly through sheer panic and shame. However, I have no complaints with DFD genreally. I am just now awaiting my completion certificate, which seems to take time. However this forum is invaluable, and certainly wish I had found it before the last 3 months of my IVA.

Again with Melanie and Co myself and never regeretted my IVA for one minute, slowly but surely getting there with the backing of a great IP who is contactable and certainly living in the real world with us. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

It is lovely to see such nice reviews about Melanie's company. I am also with her and everything has been fine so far but lately I have been having a few issues with them. My I&E review was calculated incorrectly and I received a letter stating I owed nearly £2000 in uplift payments (I almost passed out when I saw this!) I couldn't believe it so I looked at the figures myself and it turns out it was really £907 but I had to point this out to them. I have also had a change in circumstances (I'm five months pregnant) and I just seem to be going round in circles with them at the moment trying to sort a few things out, it is really starting to get me down now and I'm so stressed about it. I feel like I can't enjoy being pregnant, I just want to cry :( But I am trying to keep my faith in Mel's company as I know they are one of the best.

HI Ruth - so glad that we have been able to assist you and I look forward to speaking with you personally very soon.

Devonlassie - I am sorry that you are frustrated with the supervisory process at the moment, and wonder if you would send me a brief e-mail so that I can identify you from your forum name. We are not perfect, and do make the occasional mistake, but are always very keen to put things right when things go wrong. I will look into this matter for you personally tomorrow.

To the others - very many thanks for your kind words. They genuinely do mean a lot, and we know that we are only here due to the support of our loyal clientbase.
Regards, Melanie Giles, Insolvency Practitioner

I very nearly went with a company who I later found out to be an introductory company...... I was uneasy about them, so gave Mel's team a ring - so glad I did as I'm much happier with them and feel confident that they will look after me during the IVA :-)
Today (15/09/11) I start my journey to a debt free future ~ happy days!

If you go onto the Ask a Question section and use the link there that should work.
