You should include all forms of income in your IVA calculations, including tax credits.

Yes - if there is a creditor then this would need to be included as well, but with tax credits it does depend upon when the award was determined.

Just send the paperwork you have to your IP, and they will liaise directly with HMRC to determine just how much can be included as a claim in the IVA.

Has being in an iva made life happier for you as right now we hardly leave our house as we can't afford the petrol or even treat the kids to an ice cream on the beach and i know 5he iva is to pay debts off but has it allowed you all to regain some sort of life nothing flash but just the little things?

I have to say that our life since being in the IVA has improved no end. No creditor calls and it's nice to see a plus balance in the bank at the end of the month, even if it's only a small amount!

If you are going with VB then they will help you with your allowances. Remember things like prescription charges, dental etc. Basically put down everything you spend and VB will tell you what is allowed and what isn't.

Andy is a great bloke, he'll get you sorted.

it depends how you've been living up to now. It has improved my life as I tried really hard for over a year to keep on top of the debts and was fighting a losing battle, so for me, having a set payment to make, food in the cupboard and sometimes petrol in the car is a huge difference. However I know for some the beginning of budgeting starts with the IVA in that case no it will be tough. however it sounds like you've been like us, in that you haven't been out and about, we feel like we've been in the house for the past 18 months! It will be a huge weight off your mind either way, it certainly has been for me

That should really help you - most of us struggle to start budgeting when we set out on the journey!

Hi - I have found life a little easier financially as my debts were just eating up my income before and there was nothing left over once the bills were paid. You will also probably feel a lot less stressed as creditors stop hounding you and you start to realise that you are actually back in control.

I'm working today but otherwise would have a cob on because I can't afford a giant jug of Pimms to drink on the beach this afternoon!! So I understand about wanting to get out and about!
