Thanks for your replies. Actually made me smile. It throws you off guard when that sort of thing happens. I never believed I could get caught out that way, but you start to doubt yourself. There was nothing in the car but no he shouldn't have been in it. It was unlocked???? as I was trying to get a reversing light to work. I had gone indoors leaving it closed. Locked??????? I will just ignore him calling. If Im there Im there if not Im not. He's not coming in and I have nothing to discuss with him. This time I will be ready. The car is worth about £1000. Im disabled and just 6 weeks ago had a new hip, I have 2 now. My advisor tells me they can't take the car as long as it is not worth more than £2500. To explain I suffer from avascular necrosis or bone death, rheumatoid arthritis and Iv had a couple of strokes. My left arm doesn't work much and I can only manage a few steps. More reasons as why I got into debt. But hey I can still throw someone off my property. It really does throw you though. Its like you can't believe its happening so you don't question it. Like I say I would never have believed I would be caught that way but I was. Good idea though. My son has a water pistol which I am going to borrow. So from now on I will be armed.
Unfortunately Tina, Billy will result in the OP being taken to court for assault!
Sorry to hear of your health proboems - have you thought of applying for the motabilty part of DLA? I think it sounds as though you could qualify for it and be able to get a brand new car.
As regards the debt collector, just ignore him!

Sorry Tina but he would be able to - regardless of how we view lowlife such as this, we cannot assault them - we would be in court and would be the ones possibly going to prison - not them.
I don't like them, do not like the way some of them act but they do have a job to do. They just need to do it better.
For anyone looking in, this is unusual - the vast majority of debt collectors are polite.

I once (about 15 yrs ago) caught a burglar in my house.... After I battered his little, puny, spotty, drug crazed face in for about 20 minures, I phoned the police.
I explaned to the SOC Officer that I may have gone a little beyond using minimum force in his apprehension.
Honestly the Police were brilliant. Mr Smackhead DID press charges against me (once he came out of his coma), via some bent lawyer all the scallies go to. The Police did some seriously selective and well rehearsed questioning, which made it clear to all and sundry I was scared for my life. Result - Aquitted!

Quite agree Ginger - think the post could be getting a bit out of hand here!
Do not want to be frightening off prospective posters and people trying for an IVA. I am going to lock the thread and inform Andy.
We've had a bit of fun but it is serious.
