Our family know that times are hard and for Christmas they all get the vouchers I get for doing online surveys. It might be time consuming but it's worth it in the end!

I'm just glad I don't have to use credit anymore.

We have my parents across for Christmas and they do bung towards the food. We only buy stuff we know we will eat these days - I can never understand these people who spend hundreds of pounds on food when most of it gets thrown away!

I know - I couldn't go to Mums last year as my foot was in plaster but did a big on-line shop with all our treats and it cost £45.00!!! Last of the big spenders

Well done Kat, I know we working moms try to overcompensate, for me this month it is a bit of the opposite, our credit cards had been maxed out for ages so this month I have been able to treat my daughter to some reading books she has been asking for, for ages, it doesn't sound a lot but like you say when its paid for by you it makes all the diffence to how you feel about it.

I know christmas is not going to be easy, i'm hoping i will be able to save a bit each month out of my allowances and if needs must in my job there is often extra shifts available to work, which of course i don't mind sharing these payments with the IVA pot if it means a few extra pounds to pay for christmas pressies too.

I done the parks christmas vouchers last year and it was fantastic getting those in November. Especially if you have children.

I've also been saving this year and will be expecting them again in November. I have been doing online surveys with Newvista and nearly half way to pay out.

I can be very frugal and have been getting better as each month of our IVA continues.

I do loads of online surveys and it pretty much funds Christmas for me, it takes a bit of time but at the end of the day it means that my family can have a few vouchers for Christmas.

We all budget and get by and we should all be proud of how we do it.

I personally told my 17 year old daughter of our IVA as she is living at home and the one most affected, the other 3 have fled the nest and are independent. She luckily has a Saturday job and is self-sufficent with money and I help her with her school stuff as she's doing her A-levels and can't have her going without for school.

Christmas she knows isn't as good as it was in respect of presents but she accepts this and understands totally.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Spooky!! It was my sons birthday today - we had a little party yesterday (8 children in all) and I had saved a little every month. It still will be tight this month but to see his little face [:D]
