Don't see why they should keep them but, as you say, as long as nobody else knows it doesn't matter.

Am i right in thinking that banks could get this information from the insolvency service? (whoever they are) say, if you wished to apply for a mortgage or current account ETC, if they keep a record for 2 years?
Completion certificate recieved today last payment was the 15th April. Alot quicker than i thought.
I did ring up Synergi (clear debt) and they told me 6 years from the date of registration of the IVA every bad thing should be removed from my credit report so basically 1 more year and im totally in the clear. Is this correct.
Great news Neil - well done on getting that letter.
Your IVA will be removed after six years but you do need to check your credit record to see if any creditors have defaulted you after IVA acceptance. If they have then you need to write to them to tell them to remove any defaults after your acceptance date.

Hi neil and congratulations!
Yes they are correct. After 6 years your credit reports should be clear. You need to access your credit reports and make sure that nothing is defaulted after the date of acceptance of your IVA. If it is then you should write to these creditors along with a copy of your certificate and ask them to amend the date to the acceptance of your IVA. Anything that was defaulted before your acceptance date should automatically drop off after the 6 year period.
Hope I explained this ok. Somebody else will come along to advise so don't fret.
Well done again on your completion and your new life
You would probably need to obtain reports from all three agencies. Experian, Equifax and Call Credit (i think) just to make sure everything is in order. Somebody please correct me if I am wrong.
One good thing about Experian, they contact the creditors for you, (well they did for me) to correct information. With Equifax, id had to open online disputes to get default dates changed same with call credit, but by post. Recorded.
Many thanks for the advice but I will be monitoring this closely over the next few months. I will contact experian on Monday and see what they can do for me.
