Hello Oscar - It wouldn't hurt to ring them up and ask this question as I did just before Christmas. I had a F&F offer accepted on the 16th December and later rang DFD to ask the same question, and I was told that I could cancel my Standing Order as soon as my F&F payment had been received - so I would imagine you can do just that when your final payment is deducted from your account - unless you owe them any payments you have received for bonuses and overtime! Declan will be back tomorrow and is always most helpful on here and I'm sure that he will answer your question.

I would ring them tomorrow and ask for an answer, hopefully Declan will see this and again act on your behalf. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

It is never too early for your IP to predict when your IVA is to end, so I don't really understand your comments about earlier advice I may have given. This would take them no more than five minutes, but of course would assume that all future payments are made on time by you.

Oscar, more than happy to look into this for you so please dont hesitate to drop me a line with your details.
Pelder - I’m very familiar with your case so happy to provide you with an update.

Hi All, Hope your all enjoying Easter. Thought I should 'close the circle' so to speak ....our completion certificate arrived 10th February, almost 5 months after the final payment, I have checked the Insolvency Register as it usually take another 3 months for it to be removed but luckily it has already been removed and our credit records are now as clean as a whistle. So you would think we would be very happy at regaining control of our lives......not so quickly.... it would appear that had we chosen the bankruptcy option we would have be in abetter position to get our first mortgage, as it stands its looking slim as most lenders want another 4-6 years before entertaining us. The idea that after 6 ahrd years of paying it back that we are categorised worse than those who choose bankruptcy is sickening and nobody tells you that when you take and IVA, they tell you after 6 years its all gonne be great - well its not! Sorry to be so negative but its the truth of the situation!

Hi pikelander - congratulations! Don't underestimate your achievement!! A whole of Market broker may be able to help. Did the lender say why they give preference to BR? It may just be that you would have had three years of credit building post-br under your belt by now. I answered on your other post too.

Don't give up hope. We are completing on a house this week with a mortgage of 50% .... used a whole of the Market broker and he has used a high at building society for us and secured the mortgage albeit a high interest for the first two years ! It can be done so keep positive !
Sharing from experiences of dealing with debt

There is a solution for everyone .... Just need to stay positive !
