Hi Arrmick, Just a quick note to let you know that my husband & I had an IVA agreed last year whlst I was on maternity leave (unpaid). Ours was accepted by all 9 of our creditors (debt being double yours). It has actually worked out better for us as we had no-one to look after our child if I went back to work so we would have to use childcare which most of my wage would be spent on. They've stated that I just need to look for a part time job when my child starts school. So I now have nearly 4 years quality time with our son. I hope this helps.

marie-to ensure you remember all your expenditure go to the cccs website.
You can go through all your income and outgoings and it will show you all the figures at the end of it.
You can also save the information which will come in handy when ringing round companies.
This is useful as you most probably will forget to add a few things due to the stress of applying for the iva-we did and things such as prescriptions and haircuts had to be added later.
Beat my debt also has a good checklist for expenditure.
You can print out both of these for reference.

Another tip is that the probation service in our area offer small repairs around the home and gardening so you could see if that is offered around your way.The offenders are supervised and we have had a few jobs done.
You do sound very stressed and at the end of your tether-we went through the same feelings and it is an overwhelming feeling.
The good thing is there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Do ring round companies until you find one you are confident in.
Once you have everything in place the feeling of calm is amazing.
Budgeting can be difficult at first - but you may find you will feel better off and more settled as all your needs will be accounted for.
The best thing being you will have a date(give a year or so) when it will all be over and thats something to really luck forward to.
Good luck Marie - try not to feel so guilty about your situation-once you have your paperwork done and got the ball rolling you will get all the support you need from your iva company.
And from us !!!!
full and final accepted January 2015

iva agreed; August 2010
iva would have completed; August 2017
extra year thank's to NRAM

On the voting front, with associated creditors there will be two meetings: The first includes your associate and the vote must pass the usual 75% mark. If it passes then there is a second meet without the associate. This second vote must exceed 50% yes votes.

BTW -- these "meetings" aren't usually actual physical meets, but more of a "vote count", as 99.9% of creditors vote by phone or fax prior to the appointed time.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Thanks andrea168 and Foggy. It helps to get other opinions and experiences, as I have been feeling a bit like I'm floating around not knowing where to start. I am sitting down now to look at IP's. Thanks again
