I do think that it can depend upon who you speak to sometimes.

Foggy,

How did you get on with the Natwest e-savings account?
Did you get a response from them? :-)

Hi, Saltkitten, they sent me the forms and said they would do a full credit check, so I didn't return them (I am a wimp sometimes). Anyway I opened an e-saver account with Yorksire B.S. Skipton also confirmed to me (I e-mailed the CEO) that they don't credit check savers.

Well good for you :-) at least you can start saving now!

I have £1.00 in my savings at the moment, I'm waiting for payday so I can put a little bit more in!

I'd keep the other one as well - you can always put savings into there.

Yeah -- Co-Op are tetchy over their savings accounts !! Try Yorkshire Building Society, they have an e-saver account that might do.

Co-op are well known for doing this. You can always open another cashminder and use that to put away savings.

Very strange of the co-op. I'm curious about their thinking on this policy.

I believe that they don't think you should be saving money whilst in an IVA, it should all be going to the creditors.

I am putting any of my allowances not spent at the end of each month into a savings account. Still available if and when I need it and safe from "frittering" if I don't.

Obviously some of it will have to be dipped into --- things like the contingency fund, car repairs allowance, and anything we don't spend on the housekeeping is going in there ... so the repairs and contingency might be called on later -- if not all the better .... first time I have been able to save anything in years !

We were putting away money for the cars etc as we were told to do by our IVA company. We don't intend on saving as such just putting money aside that we have been allocated for repairs, tax etc.
