My advice is to go back to your partner and play on his guilty conscience. That man deserves to provide you with the rental deposit, and he would have to be extremely heartless to refuse - especially if he wants you out at the earliest convenience.

If your IVA is subject to the new IVA protocol you should be able to arrange a six month payment break with ease to assist with your enforced relocation as well.

Thank you once again for all the advice given. Think in relation to starting afresh it would be better if I left this place. too many memories. I still am actively seeking accomodation with no look so far. Already someone has dropped to scam me on Gumtree but saw it coming- so no harm done. Would prefer to go somewhere with cat and have my own place. Will be the first time in my life I will be on my own. Ex partner has now offered me £1000 prior to leaving and another £1000 upon vacation so at least thats a start. (Must have a conscience somewhere) Just need to find a place!!

I hope you find somewhere soon and the money from ex partner will help you once you find a place which I know is the hard bit. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

It's a step in the right direction - I'd make sure I got it in writing though first.

I would certainly look at taking a payment break as well as Mel suggested so that you can get something sorted out.

Keep coming back on here for advice and support. When you go and see CAB they may be able to help.

It does annoy me that people are funny about renting to tenants with pets. I'd be stuffed if we had to move as we have three dogs!!!!

I live in Southampton at the moment. Ex partner is looking at having agreement formally written up but I am not fully in agreement so far (which sounds ironic) as there must be something in it that he is suddenly offering me money and free choice over what possessions I can take?. I am meeting with a solicitor myself tomorrow to check this out. Fingers crossed I can now easily find somewhere to live.

Does seem a little odd that he is being like this - perhaps he has been told that if he doesn't offer anything he could be in trouble.

Let us know how you get on at the solicitors.

Getting better. I would hazard a guess that his apparent change of heart is due to his solicitor telling him that you might have a beneficial interest, and even if you didn't, if you decided to fight it could drag out for months and months. Obviously what HIS solicitor tells you is, to be blunt, B.S aimed at frightening you out.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

I suspect that there is a reason for his offer. I have just checked my credit report with experian and what a surprise i am in the poor category. Where would the IVA be as I can only see a default on the account?

I dug my credit report out the other day and think the section is called Public Record - the iva doesnt show against the debts. In my report it was at the top under my personal details.

I have just checked my report and my IVA is not currently listed on my record. Is this going to be a problem as I most definitely do have an IVA

Have just looked under public records on Experian and I have 0 listed for IVA, CCJ and bankrupcy. I have 2 defaults though from 2008. If it isnt on experian do you think letting agencies will picK up the IVA?

sorry B can't help with that one, it may be on one of the other two though, I believe there are three credit agencies that have the reports and whilst one may not show it the others might. Hopefully though it isn't on there so they won't hinder your chances.
