I really feel for you and wish there was something I could do to help.

Let us know how you get on with a solicitor, and do get in touch with CAB - they might be able to find you a rental property.

Mels plan sounds like a good one. When going to letting agents and the like be upfront about the IVA -- they will find out anyway -- and will give you credit for being straight with them.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

It should also hope that you can demonstrate that your IVA payments have been paid on time and that things like bank account and mobile phone payments are up to date.

Hi - persevere with the letting agents, some only credit check for ccjs and br. And some will be willing to offset the iva risk with a double deposit or paying over the odds for the flat (say an extra £50pm). If there is a flat that's been on the market for a while the landlord may be desperate and willing to overlook the iva. You won't end up homeless tho I know it feels like that. You will find something x

You will need to keep your IP informed as your circumstances are changing. You might be able to get a payment break if you need a rental deposit.

Will let IP know. I am hoping that I will be ok for deposit if I can get a regular rental. If letting agencies wont touch me unless I have more money upfront then I hope to consider a payment break. I am a bit concerned about continually approaching letting agencies as you lose your administration fee if you fail the checks and I cant afford to keep doing that.

The thing to do then would be to tell them upfront about the IVA before they get as far as the checks.

I was upfront about the iva for exactly that reason and wouldn't pay the fee until they had assured me the check was a formality and it's results would be disregarded. In the end, they only checked ccj/br (cheaper than doing a full search) so I camemup clean and needn't have worried about extra deposit and guarantor! You will get thru this x
