More bad news. I have heard nothing from Debt Free Direct since Declan emailed me on 12th November. I have just found out that although my last payment was made on 16th September nobody passed our case through for closure until the end of November and we now have to wait another 12 weeks as creditors were not dealt with earlier and there is a disputed request. The only thing I keep being told is that 'somebody' should have alerted them when the final payment was made and didn't and even though several people have looked at the record nobody thought to refer it to completions. I'm gobsmacked and baffled and really upset at being treated in such a shoddy way.

Hi,
I can understand your frustration,my full and final was agreed on July 12th and I have just in the last week received my certificate so it took around 20 weeks (im also a dfd customer). I had to continuosly ring and harass customer services and ask them what was happening. I know they area very big company but when you are paying the sort of fees I did (in excess of £7500) you expect a prompt and efficient service.
I was happy with them in the way they sorted my iva when I was a new customer but I have to be honest the last 8 months have left alot to be desired.
I was really pleased when my f+f was agreed as I was suffering from depression and stress, but its a bit of an anticlimax now as it has took so long to get it sorted.
Needless to say I am so pleased it is all done but it has certainly left me with a few problems that I am still trying to overcome.
I really do hope yours get sorted very soon and the only advice I can give is be persistent and call often to let them know you are still waiting
Tke Care Jlp

Thanks Karen you made me smile. Just feel that DFD are letting us down and that they have dragged their feet and we have nowhere to turn.

Unbelievable that a disputed creditor claim is still yet to be resolved, when your case ought to be closed. Have they paid any dividends to creditors at all during the IVA?

Hi Melanie, yes I believe they have paid dividends. We just feel that we keep getting fobbed off. I've been in contact with them since September but the case wasn't sent through for closure until late November and still nothing seems to have progressed. When I ask for them to account for why nothing was done in Sept/Oct and Nov I just get told 'someone' didn't do what they should have.

I am with DFD once I make my final payment in September can I just cancel my standing order as I am desparate to get my first pay in full! I am more worried I have always found them to be excellent but reading all this makes me more stressed than I already am? Please advise and don't say contact them direct like the response I had from Melanie because it's too early for them to tell me but I am not in arrears and have always found DFD excellent to date. What exactly is the the legal protocol? Is it correct and legal to cancel the standing order as soon as the last payment is made as long as you are totally up to date with payments surely a qualified IP can give me a yes or a no? Many thanks
