Thanks Kallis......really is a stressfull time for most employees these days I suppose with lots of companies having to cut their workforce. Just have to take it day to day.
I came into this world with nothing and still have most of it left!

Lesley - you are always such a great poster on here and a real inspiration so moan away!!! As for being a drama queen - isn't there a bit of that in all of us? Not that I'm suggesting you are for one minute!

I'm only 2 months in and have just had to spend £600 on my car and yesterday somebody ran into the back of me - his fault but annoying;

I am also in the public sector and really worried. I don't know if I should take voluntary redundancy or wait until the next cull of employees... I have a job interview next week for a charity that I've always wanted to work for - the salary is a lot less but I think the job satisfaction would be far greater.

Keep your pecker up Lesley - you've been through so much and I'm sure you can get through this as well.

Hi everyone again thanks for your support, I'm not too bad today, once I've heard from my IP I'll report back to the forum. It's just an anxious time isn't it? x

Bloomin` hell Lesley,
You have had a bad run, haven`t you. You`re not a drama queen at all, I think we all have times when we think things couldn`t get any worse and need to vent our despair and anger.
You`re well over half way through your IVA and have done so well to get there, I`m sure Melanie will be able to sort a solution out, and Lesley...Your fortunes are sure to change for the better sooner or later.

You're all so kind, hubby is a little down and doesn't have the motivation for work right now but we'll work through this. Next week will tell in his wages. x

I am working forward with this with the assistance of my IP and I'm feeling more positive that there will be a solution. Thank you Melanie.

I am so proud of my husband today, he's gone into work and requested a meeting with the directors, there was only one in today so he saw him straightaway, he told them in confidence about our IVA and explained a little about how it works etc., and told them basically we were already living on the bread line, would they reconsider his pay loss. The director he spoke to agrees due to our financial hardship and he really doesn't want to lose my hubby as he's a carpenter and electrician by trade employed with them as only as a carpenter but does 2nd fix work for them (electrics) so he does help them out a lot when they're stuck. He will talk to the other director and hopefully find a way to assist us. He did say all of this was in confidence and we could be reassured it would go no further in the company than the two directors and he would need husbands assurance that if any of his pay was reinstated it would be confidential due to the other workers to which husband agreed.

I never thought my husband would do this as he's such a shy type and won't usually talk to many people. I hope he can get some back and we can move forward again as to be perfectly honest with you the last 6 months in my IVA have been the best 6 months and I don't want to go back to no contingency and struggling to pay catch up the whole time.

Good for him Lesley and sounds promising. However, evene if his work cannot help I am sure Melanie will find a solution and you will be fine. Fingers crossed.

I had a little shiver of pride for your hubby because it's so so difficult to speak to employers about this kind of thing. Fingers crossed the directors will be able to do something. Your post will give a lot of strength to people in similar situations.
