Oh sounds good Melanie, it would be great to stop the register being public x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

[:)]Hi All,

I am new here, and found this website whilst checking up the details of M & D (trading as IVA Checkline), I have just returned from holiday and found a letter from these people. I knew it was a scam, but wanted to check them out online. How these people can get off on trying to trap already debt ridden people into more debt is beyond comprehension. They must think we are easy prey, and stupid, luckily not all of us are[:D]

Great to find a forum to share with other IVA 'sufferers'! I am 1.5 years down and have 3.5 years to go!

Hi and welcome to the forum.

They are just out to make as much money as they can before someone puts them out of business.

Unfortunately it is the vulnerable and desperate who will be taken in by it.

This is where this forum is so good as we can warn against them.

Hi all,

Just wanted to pass my comments on this, I was in a IVA paying way to much when I was contacted by a company based in Bournemouth, I must say how helpful they were and saved me around £7,000, I did have to pay them a fee of £500 to complete work for me, but this is nothing to what I was giving my IVA company, whoes fee was around £6000!! so I`m not sure if this is the same company but I thought I would share my situation as I`m very happy with the work they did. have a nice day to all.

Anyone who gets one of these letters should treat it with the contempt it deserves and bin it.

These companies know nothing of anyone's personal situation and just send the letters on the off chance that someone will fall for it.

If you are in an IVA and struggling speak to your IP, and if you do end up having to go BR there is no need to pay a company like this - you're wasting your money.

There are reputable BR assist companies out there, but they don't tout for trade using the insolvency register!

I'm afraid I agree with Skippy on this one. You will not find many posters on here who have a good word to say about them.

If your IVA is working fine, then continue with it. If you have problems then contact your IP in the first instance.

Don't touch these companies at all, they're just out to make money.

In my experience the only people who have a good word to say about these companies are the ones who work for them!

hi Helen,

Thanks for you reply and the others, I suppose its like anything in life you get good and bad, just one thing to Kallis, I think all debt companies are out to make money arent they?? I found the service I got 1st class and bankruptcy was correct for me, i was pushed into a IVA by the sales man from a very well know IVA company, so I`m was very happy to be given the options, and save £7,000

They get paid for getting you the IVA in the first place and then administering it.

Bankruptcy is not an option for me, I don't like being 'cold called' as it were by somone who has my details from the register and is trying to get money from me.

I presume you have had to pay an IPA? If so, then you're not really much better off are you? Your credit record will still be shot for six years.

Did you find you couldn't afford the IVA payments Anne or did you just decide that BR was what you wanted?

If you were struggling did you speak to your IP first as they may have been able to help.

Don't forget the companies who send who send out these letters are making a pretty hefty profit!

hi, i do understand your comment but to assume the company i used are totally wrong on all accounts is a little harsh, at the end of the day all debt companies out there make money from the public or they would not exsist, It really is a case of not everyone is suited to a IVA and not everyone is suited to bankrutcy, I`m happy for my name to be put on the register as its my own fault I got into debt and that is the law, anyway totally happy with my choice.

and no I never got a IPO

How did you manage that when you obviously had enough DI to pay across to an IVA?

We are going to have to agree to disagree on this as I don't like these firms and never will.

I have no objections to being on a register, I object to it being in the public domain so anyone can see my details.

It's very unusual not to get an IPA if you are paying into an IVA. If your circumstances had changed dramatically and you didn't have enough disposble income to pay your IVA then you could have made yourself BR without paying one of these companies.

I agree with Jan, I have no objections to being on a register, but I object to all and sundry being able to see it so that companies like this can send mail shots.
