Hi Thriftywitch, a warm welcome to the forum from me too. I only joined a few weeks ago myself and the support ive had from everyone has been amazing. I had my meeting with my IP 2 weeks ago and am awaiting my iva proposal being sent out, like yourselves i had got to the point where i was using c. cards and payday loans just to get to my next payday. I was constantly stressed with worry and always had headaches and felt ill, till I realised enough was enough. You and your husband are not alone going through this and the advice and support you will get on the forum are second to none. Melanie and her firm seem to do a fantastic job so I'm sure you are both in excellent hands.lol xxx[:)]

Thank you Holly[:)] Its so nice not to feel like the only person on the planet with problems, or indeed to be made to feel like a complete wally who ran up debt! I know, from my short time posting, longer time lurking and our contact with Melanie and the team that we will be ok one way or the other![:D]

Many thanks to all the kind comments from all of you towards my team. I think they are brilliant, and it is great to be acting for a couple of our newer forum members.

Thank you Sinking Fast. I scared about not paying my creditors next month. We have some rent arrears which we have to clear as priority so the rest will have to whistle for it now! :-(
Scares the hell out of me as up until now we have paid everyone (ok quite a few late payments but everyone got paid) the mess has been created by then having no choice but to buy food/fuel etc on credit cards as we pray for pay day....only to go right back round the vicious circle again! We never budgeted (or couldn't) for car MOT's, tax etc, so that all went on the plastic [:(] Something needs to be done! So I will wait on the calls in a couple of weeks time, they will either get me in a good mood or bad won't they!
Trust me you are not alone in this, your post looks so familiar I could have posted it myself and I dare say numerous other people could say the same. It's not until you come on here and see other people posting very similar experiences that you realise 'ok we've been a bit daft but we are not the only ones by a long shot' and it also doesn't matter how much you think your're in debt but I guarantee there's someone on here who can beat your figures! The main thing is you've done something positive about rectifying your financial problems and we're all here to help each other along the way. I'm with Melanie also and have got my day of reckoning (creditors meeting) on the 7th July. I already can't praise Melanie and her team enough, nothing is EVER too much trouble (although I've yet to ring her in the middle of an England game [:D]) They are extremely understanding and a real pleasure to talk to. I'm sure that everything will turn out ok for me, my wife and for you and your hubby.

Good luck

Jon

hello there, can I also welcome you to the forum. Yes it is scary when you first realise something has to be done, and the phone calls and letters can be a nuisance and a little worrying to say the least, but you know what, when you realise you need help and start on that road it somehow makes it a little easier to deal with knowing that there is a solution for you and light at the end of the tunnel.

You are in safe hands with Mel and her team, I have nothing but praise for the lovely folk at Jones/Giles. Great choice of IP. Keep posting let us know how you are doing, since my time on the forum I have gained a lot of knowledge and helpful tips along the way, everyone is willing to share their stories and believe me they do help. Good luck x

You could have rung me in the middle of today's game, just surviving! I have never seen such a poor show of play from people literally earning thousands of pounds in my life.

I wish someone had rung me during the match - I would have had an excuse not to watch it!

Mel and Skip, I could have rung you both!

Didn't watch the game, watched the cricket instead which was much more entertaining!

Thanks Jon. You hit the nail on the head, I can honestly say that I would not be this calm if it were not for the forum. When you say you thought my post sounded familiar, it actually a great thing! Guess its human nature to want to be the same as others, however when you have debt ruining your life you feel like you are stupid or something. People will judge, no doubt some of my closest friends would not truely understand if they found out, yet here, completely different story!! Guess you are all stuck with me and my hubby now!
Good Luck on the 7th! x
