Hi,
I am in an IVA with DFD. 30 months down 30 to go. I have been paying £421 a month and thus far havent had any problems with DFD. The payemnt regime is a bit harsh and I struggle every month but manage to make the payment. (my parents often help me with things)
I no longer go out anywhere except to work and I have put on quite alot of weight through comfort eating. I have recently been diagnosed with depression.I fully understand that I am responsible for my debts though and want to pay them off.
My dad has just had a policy mature with an insurance company and as I still live at home and they see me day to day and are aware of how unhappy i am, He offerd to pay £7500 (he got £7700) to offer a full and final and close my iva.

I emaled this off to DFD and they are a bit slow but after me ringing 4 times and two weeks after my email i spoke to somebody yesterday they said that it had gone straight through the customer solutions team (the man said that was a good sign) and onto my ip to be checked and then.........
i dont know what happens next or how long it will take?

So just wondering if anybody know what happens or can give me any advice,
Thanks
JLP

I'm not sure on timescales, but I would like to wish you well with your offer and hope that it's accepted. I hope you soon begin to feel much happier, don't forget we're all here to support you x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Hi we are also with DFD, and have put in a F&F offer. From submitting our request to put forward a F&F, it took them 3 weeks to decide whether or not to put it forward, and it then took them another 3 weeks to draw up the proposal, but only after us basically harrassing them to sort it out, and then for us to agree it and send it back. So after 6 weeks we have now been given a creditors meeting date of 3rd June, so its not really a quick process, and you really need to keep on at DFD otherwise they dont do anything. If we hadnt kept on at them, I think we'd still be waiting!

I wrote my email on the last day in April and I had the answer that it had gone to my ip just yesterday - the guy on the phone said she would most likely look at it on monday so to ring back tuesday . I feel like im harassing them already! I very nearly felt guilty but then remembered im paying 100 a month in fees to my ip and Ive never even asked one question in the last 30 months, so i gusess im entitled to push a bit on this one.
Thanks for your reply

Hi JLP,

Good luck with your f&f, i am with DFD, i put my proposal for f/f on the 17/2/10 and had the variation meeting accepted on 22/4/10.

I found DFD very helpful so do not think that you are pestering them by phoning up regularly to find out the current progress.

It may be of help to contact Declan who posts on here to keep an eye on things if you experience problems, i believe his details is in the experts section.

Good luck
Rob

Thank you everyone for your words of support. I am really hoping it is positive news thats it has gone straight to my IP to be checked over. I will be chasing it up on Tuesday. I am trying tnot to get my hopes up too high but I am praying everything goes through alright

If it wasnt for my parents my iva would certainly have failed very early on and I know im very lucky to have their support.
Thanks

The offer looks on the low side to me, given that it appears that you could continue with your IVA payments for the remainder of the term. If you are struggling, why not see if your IP can reduce the payments to a more comfortable level?

Hi JLP80! I too am waiting to hear back from DFD - my email was sent on the 6th May and I know what you mean about trying to judge how much to push it for an update and letting them get on with it! I have recently been signed off with depression - a mixture of an awfully bad year and then all this really doesn't help, added to my health I am facing possible redundancy at work and losing my home (I am currently renting from my mum but she is off to Perth in August by which time she needs to sell the house) so I feel that I am living on borrowed time!!!
I have been paying £323 per month (but only 6 months in) and have offered £10,000 (also from parents) plus what I have paid thus far and what I expect to pay based on the 2 month turn around time I have noted from these boards - I have been advised that this may be too low, but I haven't heard from my IP yet, I have been told to call back on Wednesday.
I completely sympathise - I feel completely "strung out" waiting for a call to come!! My life feels like it is on pause [:(]
Let me know how you get on!
Lusso!

I have heard from DFD today (after a few phone calls i must admit) and my offer has been passed by my iva as being good enought to draft into a proposal, it has been now passed onto the drafting team who are goiing to ring me during the week to go through some details and then a creditors meeting will be called.
I am presuming this is a good sign? I am hoping my ip thinks it has a good chance as she has passed it on to be written up.
Does anyone know how long it takes to draft ? im thinking the sooner they get thaat sorted the sooner a meeting can be called. And also what do I do about the money? My parents have it sitting waiting. I am obviously going to pay my payment at beginning of June and then do i just wait to hear for the next instruction.
Im keeping my fingers double crossed
Thanks everyone for your support
xx

That's great news JLP80, I too got an email from them today, saying exactly the same thing they said to you - so I will keep my fingers crossed for you that you get a speedy creditors meeting date and that they accept the offer that you are putting forward! Once you know, let us know what date you get [:)]

I am asking exactly the same questions on my thread btw

Fingers crossed, Lusso x
