Why is it unethical? Your IP is presumably allowing you to retain the equivalent of six months salary payments to allow you a reasonable time to find a new job. If this is the case, I think they are being quite helpful.

What I meant is unethical is considering a small redundancy package (ie: £3000) windfall is unethical.
How can you live "a few months" on part of £3000?

How much were you taking home each month prior to being made redundant, and how much was your redundancy settlement?

I'm taking home £945.00 a month!!

I haven't had an official one yet as we're still in the consultation period but the draft one quotes: £2831.76. Based on 9.5 weeks pay. Even though I've worked here 12yrs but because of my age when I started its so low.

My company have offered me another position but it on minimum wage! I'm not happy with that and I'm sure I can do better.
