Hi everyone, just wanted to ask, my IVA ends next week (02.03.2010) last repayment made, does that mean it is finished (no more restrictions etc.) or is it only over once you get the Certificate of Completion?

When do most people get their certificates? I send these to Equifax, Experian and the other one (can't remember their name...) and do they note that their records and the defaults I have, or do I need to contact my creditors for them to make the records?

Many of my debts changed hands and ended up with people like Eversheds, so not sure how I would know where to send them too? Any advice very welcome.

Thanks

The other one is Call Credit.

You need to make sure that there are no defaults registered on your accounts after the start of your IVA. If there are, then write to your creditors and tell them to remove them. If you write to Eversheds and whoever else has bought the debts, then that should be ok.

Well done on making your last payment next week. You're not truly free until you get that certificate though.

Should only take a few weeks.

Thanks for your comments Jan.

That's interesting, some of my defaults are just before the start of my IVA (Feb 2005, IVA started March 2005), so that would have to stay till next year. But the the others (dated May/June 2005) are these not valid? So, can I get these removed once I get the certificate?

Your defaults will still stay on for the full six years but will show satisfied or partial satisfied. You need to get your defaults dates moved to the same date your iva started I beleive.
My Iva completely comes off my credit file on the 02/03/2010 six years after my start date.
Iva F&F settled...Yeah !!!

Well done on completing your IVA Rhonda2!! You finish yours the same day a me! Thanks for the help with the defaults issue. So how do I get them moved? Do I write to the creditors or credit reference agencies?

Any ideas what/how this should be worded? I know this must seem such a silly question, just something I didn't even give a second thought too. I have only started looking at my credit file this last month (thought there was little point whilst so deep in the IVA!)

Congrats again on getting through it! Bet you feel great now?

I waited for my certificate and then wrote to the creditors with a photocopy of the completion certificate asking them to move the default date back to start of IVA date, don't forgot if you have had a five year iva,the iva will still show for a further year,on your credit file, but it will show completed or satisfied. Also ,you will come off the insolvancy list in a few weeks..Good luck and well done for completing your Iva

Just checked my credit file on CreditExpert and my IVA already isn't there? Will check the insolvency register and see if it still there. My defaults are also not listed on Credit Expert? Which seems really odd?

Congratulations again on finishing your IVA (only a couple of days to go!!!!) Well done and thanks again for your comments.
