Hi everyone
having been reading posts on the forum for some time I have finally found the courage to admit to all the debt and realise there are only 2 ways out - BR or IVA.
Have always been concerned with not having the IVA approved for whatever reason but think we have made a great choice in Melanie as our IP.
Have all the documents ready & having made the initial call it feels like a huge weight has been lifted already.
Just feeling a bit worried in case something does go wrong & we won't be accepted. 95k debt, quite a few creditors and 2 kids - really wouldnt want to go down the BR route.
Oh well fingers crossed, from what I have read most of you guys get a date within 8 weeks so come May we might be lucky enough to be accepted, too.

Hi Sash
The best thing you can possibly do is to take control of your finances back by acknowledging the problems in the first place.

We have chosen Melanie and her team too and are looking forward to getting everything sorted out and finalised. Good Luck with everything.

Get those documents to us as soon as you can Sash. I looked at your case this afternoon (if I have correctly identified you!) and feel that it is fine for an IVA. Look forward to speaking to you very soon.

Hi and thanks for the responses :) It is great knowing there is someone out there in the same situation.

Melanie - do I wait for a letter from you or shall I send the documents in straight away?

The letter will come out to you tomorrow hopefully, but if you have documents ready to send I would get those to me as soon as you can.

Sash its natural to be worried about whether or not you will be accepted, we have all been there, but make no mistake...you could not be in better hands than Melanie and her team. To tell the truth I wouldn't consider an IVA/BR Company who don't post on these forums and theres always some great advice to be had from the few IP's to frequent these boards.

Sash - there are a lot of people in a very similar situation to you and this forum is a great place to make you feel like you are not alone - if you need to ask a simple question or get something off your chest there is always someone here to assist you.

We too have selected Melanie as our IP company and we have submitted all our documentation now its just time to wait and pray that an IVA is accepted - I am self employed so will have a meeting prior to signing the proposal - a small trip from Sussex to Cardiff and back then fingers crossed (well everything crossed)

We have started getting the inevitable calls from our creditors (lloyds are our main one's who unfortunately will lose us the IVA if they decline)but we have faced the calls head on - explained when we can next make token payments and referred them to the letters we have sent them explaining our current situation - so far they have all just noted their records and explained further charges will incur on our accounts.

I am sure it will get worse but this forum helps me through as i know if i have a wobbly moment someone will always be here to help me/us through it!

Good luck Sash xx

Sash and Claire - you have chosen an excellent IP and I am sure both of you will be accepted.
