This may be a silly question but just wanted to be sure... would my IVA have a negative affect on my parents credit score? As I live with them and my dad has been declined credit recently, I wondered if there was a connection or is this merely coincidence?

Providing you had not joint debts your IVA shouldn't have any effect on your parents' credit rating. Some of my debts were taken out at my mum's address and some at my partner's and neither of them have had any difficulty getting credit.

It would be worth your dad checking his credit files (Equifax, Experian and CallCredit) to make sure there are no problems there. If they do show any links your dad can file a notice of disassociation.

Cheers skippy, Dads just done a check & nothing suspect on there, must just be lenders being picky as is expected these days!
