I finish my IVA 25th May 2010, just had my last but one review....I'm quite underwhelmed by it all! I feel scared as I have loved feeling protected and safe and living within budget. Have been with Freeman Jones who have been totally brilliant, I would recommend, big factory for IVA's but I received a very personal service. Total debt wipe-out a massive £67000, no further 12 month extension due to lack of equity, just 5 years and done! So will be moving in with my lovely very supportive other half, he will be buying not me.... I have my own little house but will be living in a nice big one with a conservatory mortgage free! wow.... sadly this will be acquired from his inheritance of his dad passing away boxing day this year. I am going to get another car (probably from Duncton)and then I'm going to do a debt management course to help others like myself probably with CAB. Sorry if I sound boastful but just wanted to share my thoughts, can't tell anyone else xxx no one else knows xx happy new year to everyone at whatever stage your at it does and will get better xxxxxx
On the slow safe road to success. Personal thanks to Melanie Giles Kallis Skippy Elv5 and all the other wonderful forum friends.
What a lovely post Kabby, and it doesn't sound boastful at all. I'm sorry that your partner's dad passed away.
My IPA finishes on 28th June, so I'm also looking forward to a new chapter. I've no idea what I'll do to mark it - at the moment a new tattoo and saving for a watch are what I'm planning but who knows!
Excellent post Kabby, and look forward to reading about when your last paymnent goes out.
Sorry to hear about your partners loss, not good at any time, but especially at Christmas.

I'll be glad at the end to know I'm another 12 months closer to the end of my IVA!

What a nice post, I am just starting my road to being debt free, but seeing posts like this it is comforting to know that I will get through the other side in the end.
What a great post! Well done Kabby and I hope the next few months fly by for you!
I finish my IVA in precisely 7 days - this time next week, I will be debt-free (OMG that sounds fab!). I too have been wondering how I will manage when I don't have to do the whole budget thing and wondering what I will do with the "spare" money - I bounce from treating myself to something fabulous, to being scared to death and thinking if I do that, I'll end up back in the same boat I was in five years back!
Well done Julie and what a wonderful New Year you will have!

When our IVA finishes I am starting a savings account with a DD set up for the full amount minus £200 each month so that we can save a deposit for a house....just having the extra £200 per month will mean so much and after two years of saving the rest we will be in a strong position for a mortgage with a good deposit ! Why suddenly spend evey penny again - you have survived the five years..yes have a little extra, but don't risk going backwards !

There is a solution for everyone .... Just need to stay positive !
I intend to have a splurge when my IPA finishes - all paid for in cash. I will be saving some for a rainy day, but I plan to enjoy the rest as life's too short not to - there's no point in being the richest person in the graveyard!
