I've just received my pay rise from work, back dated from April. I got around £650 in back pay and a bonus of £170. I phoned payplan to find out how much i needed to pay into my IVA and my case officer said they didn't need any of the back pay!! Why is this? My IVA started before the pay rise was effective. In the end they only took £56 of my bonus.

I was gobsmacked and really pleased to have the extra money but i just want to make sure they have got it right and they're not going to ask for the money at my annual review.

Thanks

Hi
Good advice from merrypotter, just ask your case officer to drop an email to you stating that thet do not require any backpay from you

Interesting methods operated by this firm - who are supported financially by creditors. Get that decision in writing, to avoid them coming back to you in the future.

I am with Payplan as well and they have never taken my back pay either.

My last back pay was prior to my first annual review and I was not asked for anything.

I even phoned them this year and told them about my payrise (no back pay though!) and they said they were not interested until my next annual review.

Does that mean that they only take the pay rise into effect from the review date forwards or do they backdate from the review date to when you it first came into effect? Also what about outgoings, if they were to go down does that take effect from when/and if it happens or just from review when you do income and exp? Thanks.

It will be down to each individual person's IVA.

For my own, my back pay was mine to do with as I wished. Payplan were informed as soon as I received it and they didn't want to know.

Same with my payrise, they weren't interested until next years review.

I asked the same question of Payplan & was also told that they would take no backpay, I do all my correspondence by e-mail so have this in writing.

I found the same with Payplan, I receive any payrises just after my annual review and they said that if there is to be any increase it would be implemented at the next annual review.

That's exactly what they said to me.

Does make me laugh though that they do a quarterly review.

Why?????
