Hi everyone i have a question regarding my gas and electric, how would we stand if we wanted to change companies, i assume they do a credit check on you and as we're BR i doudt anywhere would accept us or am i mistaken, any info would be greatly appreciated thanks [8D]

EDF do not credit check - no pay - no gas or electricity - they have some good deals going at the moment.

We're with Atlantic and really rate them. Don't know if they credit check though.

I switched from Eon to Scottish Power whilst 18 months into an IVA so they can't have credit checked me either.

I went through a cashback site so they also paid me £70 for switching to them, I went for a capped rate which ends a few months before my IVA was due to finish so that meant I wouldn't have to worry about price increases whilst in the tight budget restrictions of the IVA.

Not sure if you're allowed to post links on here but Quidco are currently offering £110 cashback for switching gas and elec Scottish power, £80 to EDF, £62 for Eon...

Quidco are pretty good - I'm registered but not used them yet.

I too have just moved to EON so they couldn't have credit checked me either (in an IVA). But it's handy to read these posts as we heard from our landlady yesterday, she wants to come and see us tomorrow as needs to sell some property and she could be selling this house, only been here two months [V]
