I am in a position to pay off my IVA early and spoke to Synergi today who advised that 1 year after I pay this it will be dropped from my records and dosent stay on for the full 6 years from the start of it. Is this right I just want to double check as I read somewhere this was not the case but she told me it was!!!
Whoever you spoke to at Synergi hasn't a clue what they are talking about!
Skippy is totally correct.

Now thats really annoying and not un-surprising seeing as its Synergi who have been useless to put it mildly!! The letter even said if I didnt settle within 3 months the figure would be looked at again and probably would be higher due to fees etc.............how on earth they work that out when I will have paid another 3 months into it is beyond me. I will be phoning them on Monday and voicing my displeasure at shoddy advice from a supposedly professional company.
One final thing for tonight!! They extended my IVA to 6 years from 5 due to their error does this mean it will be post 1 year after this until it drops off report or it still stands at the 6 year mark and drop of your credit files?
until your iva is completed it will show as active on your credit file,i,m waiting to see what it shows after completion early ive just sent completion certificates to the 3 credit file companies, and they will update my files within 28 days.i expect it will show closed then drop off in a few years.

The IVA will be on your file for six years from the date of approval, regardless of whether it was a five or six year iva. It will then drop off your record.

Its best to contact you IP directly at Synergi and let them no exactly what you was advised, some of them are fine and will re train the member of staff involved, there have been massive changes in synergi, and 50+ staff been made redundant, including myself, but the new manager, and processes look good, and the way complaints and customer disatisfaction are dealt with should all be improved.
I'm sorry you've lost your job as well - hope you manage to get another one soon.
