Hellodolly can you explain to us your reason for coming to the forum?? Perhaps some background as to your situation.
Clearly you have issues with the validity of IVA's as a tool to manage debts, yet so many people I have spoken to think they are the greatest thing on the planet compared to being scared to answer the phone or open the door in case its a DCA come to asset strip the house!!

Many people still feel there is far more stigma attached to becoming bankrupt than there is to use an IVA or DMP and will therefore avoid going BR at all costs. Some people are in jobs which dictate the fact that BR isnt allowed.

As for certain creditors rejecting IVA's,you are correct, some do have criteria that must be met if an IVA is to be accepted(debt unable to be paid in a dmp in less than 10 years for example).

The forum is here to help and support people who are unsure of what steps to take to sort out debt issues, and while everyone is entitled to an opinion I would greatly appreciate you remaining civil whilst you type or I may have to SHOUT AT YOU!!!!

Paul

Thank you for your concern Joker, but the correct spelling is Hannibal Lecter. Now please take your abusive comments and various different incarnations elsewhere and stop wasting everyone's time.

Thanks Ladyh! It's a shame that some people have nothing better to do with their time than waste other peoples'.

Is it due to be a full moon tonight???

Not sure why occasionally we appear to attract absolute idiots to the forum, but it happens.

Jan will be upset she has missed all this!!!

Me too!!

You nip out of the office for half an hour and miss all the fun!!

If Joker, and an apt name there by all accounts if ever there was one, had bothered to do any research on here then they will have found numerous threads where it has been stated categorically that in the majority of cases BR is cheaper overall for the individual than IVA, no one makes any bones about that at all. Hidden, or perhaps not so hidden, agenda at work here methinks.

Regards.

I have only been a member for a few days, but I can honestly say that this forum has helped me face my problems and realise there is a way out of them. Without this help I do not know what I would have ended up doing. This site in my humble opinion is priceless.
