Cheers Skippy it,s an amazing Island, hopefully we can settle our IVA asap so that we can travel about here with no financial pressure, would be a shame to live on a tight budget when there is so much here to offer. We probably won't get this oppurtunity ever again, so really would like to make the most of it.

I hope you can get it sorted. Be great to be able to do what you want without worrying about money.

Spenmotherhen, i agree with you regarding the flights but, right or wrong, you will be amazed at what a bottle of baileys could do to progress your flight application! As for the dependants, i did'nt mean your children, i was referring to the respective partner (be it male or female) who is not employed within the services. That said, i echo kallis and wish you well in trying to get your iva finished once and for all. It truly is a wonderful country with many places to visit and enjoy, and personally speaking, i do not think you will meet many better people than the Cypriots. Lastly, if you do bury your head in the sand, watch out for those turtles and their eggs![:D]
All the best to you and your family.

Regards zim zim

LOL!!! Zim!!! funny you mentioned the turtles, we were down on the beach the other day watching the babies getting down to the sea safely!!
There are jobs available just for the dependants (the older ones lol) CV is updated and ready and waiting.
The good old days where a slab of beer got you a long way has sadly gone, everyting is budgets and health and safety these days. I am sure if needed all will be fine.
Thanks very much so lovely to have the support of you guys x

It's amazing how sunshine can make you feel better! I was based in Cyprus for 6 months in the 80's and loved every minute of it, we've been back for four holidays pre IVA. I have some heavy christmas working this year, and hopefully, after the 50% we may be able to stretch to an out of season holiday. Not had one for three years now [:(]

You will be amazed at how far you can get on the local buses, not the best form of transport, but very cheap, and it's only a small island. Must be great for the kids to grow up there, as Cyprus seems to be one of the few places in the world where Brits are genuinely liked!!

As anyone else who has been will know, you will need every penny of that LOA as it is not the cheapest of places, even pre Euro it was expensive. But I'm with Zim Zim on the food, I love all Greek/Cypriot dishes and there are always good deals to be had if you want to eat out. Is the private beach still there for forces families, think it was called Cessac beach [?]

Anyway, I've rambled too much now, I can almost smell the factor thirty [8D] Have a great time and hopefully it will make your situation a bit more bearable being on that gorgeous Island with that round yellow thing in the sky, can't quite remember what it's called now [;)]

Hope you can sort out a F&F soon Spen so you can enjoy yourselves that little bit more.
IVA completed April 2013

The private beach was still there when I was there five years ago!
