Just to let you know went online yesterday and saw I have £1.37 as available funds in my account. I dont get paid until next Friday BUT still smiling as 4 months agao this would also of been the case but would of been 1.37 left of a large overdraft, I wouldnt have the £25.00 cash in my purse, fridge full of food, all my utilites paid and a savings account with a whole £13 in it!!!

It was the 3rd payment this month in the IVA household!! It has been a tough month with car needing a bit of work to get it thru its MOT and I know next month is going to be a killer with school shoes and coats to buy I have got the other uniform sorted. I am loving the budgeting side of things.

Keep smiling
Deex

that's a great attitude. It's weird the things that you don't miss. I've started walking to lots of places to save on petrol and i'm healthier and happier for it - and have lost 2 1/2 stone in the year i've been on an IVA! (though of course with this summer, i've invested in a decent brolly!). I no longer feel the need to buy the latest box set of some tv show, or splurge on magazines each week. Budgeting has really opened my eyes to the little things I wasted my money on and I'm really hoping that in 47 months time, I will be much better off by sticking to this new regime :)

I too have discovered pound land and I have also given in to getting my skin care from Lidel £2 for anti wrinkle cream and £6 for their super dooper line cream that has had rave reviews!!

Boots do a great £5 foundation that I prefer to my old £16 one since they"improved" it.

and whern my friend wanted to give me petrol money for collecting a table for her 40 mile away I asked for some perfume that i could wear for work from Next as it is £12 for 100ml.

My neighbour who is a hairdresser now cuts my hair and I colour it myself so that has brought a £70 bill down to £15 and as I only could afford to have my hair done twice a year I can now have it done every 2 mths and still be better off.

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!

All great stuff!!!

Such a good feeling isn't it Dee

I could not believe it at the end of my first month (last week), I hit that internet banking button to TRANSFER £8.36 TO MY SAVINGS ACCOUNT [:p] WOW I do not remember the last time I could do that (about 20 years ago I think)

Brilliant post and I have found Lidl and Aldi, I shop all over now rather than one shop...I use Aldi face cream, I get my clothes from Peacocks or similar, shoes are good in Brantano. I used to live in my overdraft too and often only have a couple of quid at the end of the month but it's always credit never debit.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Have to say that I'm not fussed on Lidl and dislike Aldi intensely!

We do a bulk shop occasionally at Costco for dog food and loo roll and Flora (much cheaper there!) plus other stuff that it is cheaper to buy ther in bulk, rather than in dribs and drabs from the supermarket.

We are biased tpwards Asda as daughter works there part time, so we get discount!

It is great to have money left at the end of the month though, isn't it? Doesn't matter how little it is.

What is Costco?? my friend has just given me a Bookers cash and carry card and thought about going there.

and found a local butcher who sells in bulk the more you buy the less you pay so some friends and myself are going to goes 4 ways on some bits!!

Sorry the face cream is from Aldi not Lidl!!! day cream, night cream and intensive line cream all for £11 not much to pay to be young and beautiful again lol

Costco is a big American owned cash and carry, available to the trade and to certain professions in the non trade sector. We buy some of our meat from the butcher and some from Costco as it is much better quality.

I don't do any creams from anywhere, never bothered with them at all. Probably why I look an old hag![:D]

Never believed all the hype anyway!

We went into Aldi once, and just didn't like what they had.

Don't eat a lot of salad to be honest, and one of the bargains at Asda at the moment, if you like curry sauce that tastes like chip shop curry sauce, is their Smart Price - 4p a jar!

The only toiletries stuff I use is Sure deodorant, Avon shower gel, various shampoos and conditoners, and Veet home waxing. I just can't be bothered to do anything else!

I've been in Aldi and Lidl but I've never actually bought anything - I just didn't like it!

I must admit I save up and use a Clinique moisturiser as it's the only one that doesn't bring me out in spots - it's my one luxury. I always buy from shops on Ebay or Amazon though as it's less than half price.

For toiletries I use Treacle Moon shower gel from Tesco (smells lovely, I'm using coconut at the moment) which is about £3 for a 500ml bottle, Sure deodorant and Palmers Cocoa Butter body lotion. I love that, it smells like chocolate!
