With Northen Rock holding so little of the debt I can't see any reason why your proposal shouldn't sail through.

I do find it worrying that Halifax are recommending a particular firm - surely it's down to the individual to make their own decision?

I think I heard of Halifax doing this for another poster about a month to six weeks ago. As long as you are happy with the proposal and service provided then there is no need to worry. On the plus side if they have made a recommendation then I would think they are more likely to accept.

I think that they should tell people to take advice from and IP, no suggest one.

Like ivas4us says providing you are happy with your proposal and the service you're receiving then you've got nothing to worry about. I seem to remember other posters on here using FJ and I don't remember anything bad.

I don't recall any bad comments about Freeman Jones.

I am a little concerned as well with regards to creditors recommending particular IP firms. Everyone should be free to make their own choice, but as most IP's will be happy to pay referrers for work legitimately passed to them, it is hard to escape certain inferences.

Of course, such inferences should not be held as gospel, and perhaps Halifax recommend other firms as well.

Regards.

We are not concerned for you, efc, merely that a major creditor appears to have a relationship with one particular creditor, and this is quite unusual in today's marketplace, where lenders seem to want to demonstrate complete independence in not recommending commercial debt providers.
