Oh my god! Can't believe it! Just got a call from Barclaycard. The woman was lovely and really professional! I'm only a month behind with my payments. She asked me for my case ID number and said she would freeze my cards for 14 days until the Creditor's meeting. I am really suprised as I have heard some real horror stories on here! I did make token payments last week (only small though) with a letter explaining that I'm entering into an IVA proposal with Payplan.

Dont let your guard down. The next one will phone you at 8.05pm tonight and will be mrs nasty. The problem is that the call centres are manned by people and everyone has a different way of treating people. Its good that they were nice thou.

Perhaps there has been some training and the call centres made more IVA aware. Ultimately, it is a waste of time and money to pursue those proposing an IVA or who are actually in one and the resources would be better used chasing those who are doing nothing about their debt problems or who just refuse to pay.

I hope you are right Michael - Melanie did raise a serious complaint with the reps of Barclays on my behalf and, as a result, I and my wife, had a verbal apology. Perhaps something has gone down the line at last - I hope so.
