Hi EveryoneImage

I'm waving upside down today cos feeling pretty low.

Just got back from Court. The actual process is really smooth - though I do have to warn any people thinking of BR it is essential that your forms are filled out correctly etc. as this just irritates the clerks. Mine were spot on. With the help of the CAB website who have completed example forms for you to follow, and Melanie Giles and Melanie Nichols mine were completed. The lady said they were perfect and exceptionally neat! When I went to do my oath I broke down and had to wait a minute or two to get the words out. I know this is the best way for me and the children. But I do feel so many things. Angry cos the LEA and my ex-husband caused all this. So grateful to my creditors for loaning me the money - without their money my children would not have an education and be in danger. Frustrated cosI can't pay them back - and I can't. And ashamed.

Tomorrow I have to see the judge at 9.30. Here the judge sees all people going bankrupt. Then it will be done. I know I have done the right thing. It is just getting the peace within myself now. Also not knowing what the Official Reciever will decide.

Thanks to everyone - you have been so supportive. Off to do the weekly shop now so that will take my mind off it all!

Hi poppy you're not alone in feeling this way, i can assure you, i feel EXACTLY the same!! guilt, ashamed, and dissapointed. But on the other hand we didn't no what were to come in the following months that was beyond our control, so that eased the inner pain a little, i now think of it as a learning curve (like when i was a college, just a very expensive one)and we will come out the other side stronger, and be able to cope with what life has to throw at us next (if not for myself, then definately for our daughter) take care & good luck for tomorrow xx

Well done to you for being so brave. You are an inspiration to all of us for what you have done for your kids, and I am sure the judge will confirm this to you tomorrow as well.

Please post and let us know how you get on.

Poppy you have tried your best, and it is not your fault that you will be going bankrupt. Circumstances (and other people) just conspired against you.

Hold your head when you go into court tomorrow. I hope it goes ok.

Hi Everyone

Thank you all for your kind messages - it means a great deal.

I meant to say that my day started in one of those ways. I have to get up everymorning at 5.15am so I can get myself ready in time to get the kids up at about 6 - 6.15am. Well I have this special calender thing which you don't write on but each day you turn a page and a saying, or thought has been written on it. Today's was uncanny....

June 16th

Give generously, Save Consistently, and never spend more money than you have.

I felt it was my kick off point for all of this - I truely never ever want to be in debt again ever. I then went to put on my suit (I decided on the suit) - but have lost so much more weight through stress it fell off! (probably a size 6 -8 now). So jeans, smart white shirt and smart jacket was the order of the day. And it will be same sort of thing tomorrow.

Still have washing machine tummy and tears in the back of my eyes - but we will get there - all of us will on here - one step at a time - one day at a time.

ImageHugs to you all and thank you again.

Poppy, I really feel for you. I feel ashamed too, going through an iva. Its what other people think that makes you feel ashamed. What you did today took guts, more than I have and you did it for your children. I admire you for being that strong caring mother. Very good luck for tomorrow I will be thinking of you and look forward to reading you post tomorrow evening. Good luck. x[:)]

Wonder - it makes not one jot what other people think - if they cannot accept you for the way you are (including IVA) they have the problem not you.

Poppy you are an inspiration and have true guts and probably the most guts I have ever seen in a person. You stood firm and fought for your children and borrowed money to make sure that they got what they deserved as opposed to me that just basically wanted more than I could actually afford. You then have the guts to go BR and I havn't even got the guts to do that. Your children should be very proud of you to have such a caring mother that has put them first before anything else. Good luck for tomorrow, I will be thinking of you.
