Hi, this is a long story but, basically, when we entered into the IVA we was paying £340 a month for our car and was told by our IP company to get rid, get it repossessed and take out a lower finance of £255, which we did. We took out finance 2 months before with blackhorse. 1 month into the IVA, Blackhorse repossessed that car, saying that we had entered into the agreement knowing we would be going into an IVA, we pleaded with them, told them they where guaranteed the money, offered guarantors, but they would not have any of it and treated us like criminals. So my husband is now car less, although we have an allowance, as driving from place to place is a huge part of my hubby's job. Anyway we went back to IP who agreed my brother could take the finance out for us, we pay him, they see the contract, and so on. Which we did. Now my brother is having to go bankrupt. The car will be repossessed and we are stuck up S~~t creek without a paddle. Hubby still needs a car, we can't get finance. Does anyone have any idea's how to get round this one?
14 down 46 to go!

I have seen on some other threads a company that will finance cars when people are in an IVA. Not sure which company it is but I am sure it won't be long before somebody posts on here that knows. Sorry not much help but it might just ease your mind a bit.

Sorry to hear this Gillp.

On the application form for the finance with Blackhorse did it ask if you were in or were contemplating any form of arrangement with your creditors?

Cannot your brother ask the new finance company (and subject to OR approval) to keep the payment going?

Try www.bellgroupuk.com they offer long term car hire. Husband has a very nice car using his car allowance. All they wanted was proof of earnings he was very honest because his credit rating is shot to pieces. Contact is Gemma and you can view vehicles on line.
Another member on here recommended them. Have a look xx [:I]
