Hi

Phone rang a little while ago and it was a recorded call (I hate those) asking if we were having debt problems and worrying about credit card bills etc etc.
How do they know that we're trying to sort this out? I'm already feeling like there's a great big neon sign over my head saying - debt laden loser - and now I feel even more paranoid that everyone knows how stupid I've been.
Not having a good day today at all, worried keep coming back,
panic sets in and off I go again.....

There isn't Pap - so don't worry. Just a pretty big marketplace of buying and selling people's personal details, from which a lot of people are making a lot of money. If the calls annoy you, just put the receiver down as this is what most people actually do.

Oh Pap, they will just be blanket calling people and as so many people are affected by debt they must find that a good marketing tool.

Please don't worry, you really could not be in better hands with Mel & her team and you have all the forum members for support.

i felt like such a faliure for a long time after admitting and facing up to my debt problem, but I do no longer think that so much and I am doing my best to sort it out and will never get into that situation again.

It is such a hard place where you are right now, but I promise it does get better and this will all be a distant memory soon[:D]
Be positive & look after yourself, there are more important things in life than debts....

Best Wishes

Emma x

I am really grateful for all the support I get here from everyone. Without this, who knows where I'd be right now. I think I'm just feling sorry for myself today so everything seems really bleak. Pathetic or what!

You're not pathetic Pap, you are having the same feelings that the rest of us had. I was in your position this time last year.

As Melanie and Emma have said, ignore those calls, they come from foreign call centres (It is illegal to cold call from England). Just ignore them, if you do speak to them, just tell them you're not interested and put the phone down.

Pap, PLEASE do not call yourself pathetic NOT after all the help and encouragement you have so freely given to J and me. I have had those calls too - I have an idea the source but I cannot prove it - from one of the Yellow Pages outfits. On one of the posts I put a Latin tag which my PP gave me to deal with rude creditors - he gave me another one which I used and it worked! here it is: Capita similia tui aestimantur unius assis" Roughly translated so Fr Tells me is" Guys like you are a dime a dozen". Try it in the Latin - they give up!! David

I think I am being a bit pathetic really, I've been surrounded all day by some really negative people and it's rubbed off on me a bit BUT I've just had some cornish ice cream with chocolate sauce so it's not all bad !
