Just be sure that this is the right company for you to have a relationship with over the next five years. If you have already received good service, nothwithstanding you have paid four payments and are uncertain what has happened to that money, if it feels right for you then go for it. You can, of course, pull out at any stage leading up to the creditors meeting.

I've been on a DMP. It's ok, but of course it takes much longer to pay off, and there is no guarantee that interest will be frozen for the full term. As it happens, we had no problems in that direction and we did it for 18months. We still had calls and letters, but not nasty ones.

I too am with Synergie but must say I found my process relatively painless. Initially they were very good and kept me informed throughout and I too had to start making payments before the IVA was formalised in court as a show of good faith and in their words - proof that I was intent on seeing it through. I ended up making payments of £480 from September and the IVA was formalised by the court in February, where the amount was increased to £503, so I had already made 5 payments. My annual review falls in the February but I have been unable to get a straight answer from Synergie regarding my initial 5 payments since my IVA started. I have asked numerous people on the helplines requesting confirmation that my 5 years will end in a September as that is when I started making payments. So far, 2 have said yes as I only have to make 60 payments but 2 have said that I will have to continue making payments until the 5th anniversary of the IVA being formalised (February). This would mean I will have made 65 payments. Can anyone shed any light on this? If I have to continue making payments till the February what happens to my initial 5 payments? Surely as my IVA was successful, Synergie will have taken their fees and would not need to use my initial payments to line their own pockets! Would really appreciate it if anyone can give me a straight answer as depsite the fact I still have 3 years left, the thought that I may have chucked £2400 down the drain is not nice. Many thanks

p.s. I hope your meeting went well Lend Us and you're continuing down the road. Maybe you can get a straight answer from Synergie about the payments you have already made. Good luck
